Thawte renewal

Why not use their online chat facility or phone them up?

I got helped within an hour, and I didn't have to hope someone was working for thawte on these forums...
 
Well if the chat facility didnt work for you then did you try and phone them?

Like I said, the 2 issues I had were either sorted over chat or I phoned them. Never had a hassle with them and I never emailed them about problems I had because I too had endless waiting periods for them to respond on simple things like emails (waiting months)

So. I dare you to phone them up. I'll buy you a beer if you can't get it sorted over the phone at least. And remember, if they give you ****, "Manager please" is all you have to say.
 
well, eventually their web chat decided to work, and i got a person to phone me, so now they will send the cert out.

just some info: old admin had left, so contacts etc were all in his name, emails etv, voicemail to his mobile etc etc etc. our purchasing dept, renewed the cert but thawte didnt issue because they were trying to get hold of old admin...that is what needed sorting.

i was trying to prevent the Uk--> SA phone call that I would have to make. I've also decided to drop the attitude..it is too nice a day to get upset

? All info from the "Contact Us" page. You didn't have to make a UK -> SA phone call. Besides. Rest assured it's cheaper for you to phone from the UK to SA than it is to phone from JHB to Cape Town. So this issue could have been resolved ages ago.

I know I know. "Why put something on there that doesn't work". All I can say is if it really was urgent and important it wouldn't have taken 2+ weeks to sort out from either side ;) I would've throttled someone by now.
