I was also off in Durban CBD this morning. Gave up trying. Will try again tomorrow. Got ADSL at home that actually works.

I don't believe it... I phoned the help desk (while the card was still flashing red) and switched to 3g only profile (as per standard help desk instructions)
-Now believe me that I tried this at LEAST 4 times by myself tonight!
And yes, as murphy would have it, it switched to 3G.

I asked the operator if she pressed the "magic button" for me, but she said no. hmmm
I hope things are sorted for tomorrow, most of todays problems were fixed by 4:30 according to the operator.

The general error was fixed earlier today and slak and the other Capetownians were affected by a local radio problem which was fixed after slak reported it.

Hmmm, I'm still having trouble with data transfer stopping after a period (sometimes short, sometimes longer). Could it, in fact, be a datacard problem? I'm also having trouble installing the latest firmware.
Thanks
Slak

Edgemead Cape Town - Last time I had a 619 was about three months ago, when I signed up for HSDPA (in the hours before the account was activated).

Had no Vodacom signal at all from about 10 or 11 last night, but it seems to be back on this morning.

Likely local maintenance on your tower.

There was a problem last night, pretty much south of the Orange, that could have affected connecting via the WAP gateways. Probably affected MXiT clients, etc.
