Pink Floyd

Another Brick In The Wall

This became Pink Floyd's only number-one hit in the UK and the US. The single, as well as the album The Wall, were banned in South Africa in 1980 after the song was adopted by supporters of a nationwide school boycott protesting racial inequities in education under the apartheid regime.



KC & The Sunshine Band

Please Don't Go

Shortly after the song's one-week run at number one, the group broke up. They later had the comeback hit ‘Give It Up’ in 1983.




Buggles

Video Killed The Radio Star

It was first recorded by Bruce Woolley and The Camera Club. The song's music video for The Buggles version was written, directed, and edited by Russell Mulcahy, and is well-remembered as the first music video shown on MTV in the United States at 12:01 a.m. on 1 August 1981.


Styx

Babe

The song was Styx's first, and only, US number one single the song was written by member Dennis DeYoung as a birthday present for his wife Suzanne.
