Olivia Newton John - Xanadu
*rated as one of the worst films*
Something I tend to avoid mentioning - given it was a really hopeless movie - I am actually in the video as part of a side group.
An uncle of mine was a marine architect, he was living in a suburb in Los Angeles, called Brentwood.
At the time he was busy with a yacht refurb for some music or film producer / director, or something like that.
My family would visit every year. One year we are there and the owner of the yacht is visiting my uncle. The guy was bitching and moaning about production and cast problems, and needed a few extras. My uncle turns around and volunteers me. Next thing I’m at rehearsals.
My appearance is very short and its clear I’m clueless, bad fitting clothes and out of step (if anyone has a strange urge to see who I am in the video - DM me - not putting that out in public).
It was a hoot tho. Olivia Newton John nicknamed me “kissey-face”.
By strange coincidence, I met her many yrs later. I had a boyfriend who was working on a yacht - Attessa. Attessa was the yacht featured in the movie “Indecent Proposal” - where they fly off to the yacht by helicopter from the hotel / casino.
There was a bit of filming in the yacht around the piano.
Anyway, I was invited for a holiday on the yacht, by chance Olivia Newton John was on board for an evening as a guest of the owner (Dennis Washington).
I mentioned me being in the movie - nothing clicked.
“Kissey-Face”, I reminded her. She screeched with laughter.
