The above ground pool thread

Could you guys show me pics of your pool and setup? Would be nice to see what you have done, the equipment used etc

Using those intex pumps it came with
You will need a proper pump and filter system firstly, assuming you got the standard tiny filter cartridge based pump..

Which pool do you have and size..? I assume it has the inlet and outlet on the pool wall..?

Is it possible to use one of those keeper krauly pool cleaners for an above ground pool?

If I can, what will I need to do to get it to work?
WAslayer and I use one of these:

Works well, off pools inlet - so no suction required (it creates a whirlpool type effect to suck things up instead).

Runs around and cleans the pool (has a catchment basket underneath) and I empty it weekly.

So the pool cleaner linked is great and works a treat.. you will have to upgrade your pump to this:

Or the Intex equivalent:

To get it to run and clean..

Edit:

There is this one as well:

Only needs 900 - 1500 gallon per hour flow rate soay work with your existing pump, you just need to check it's flow rate..

Got a hole in my pool :(
What's the best option to patch it? I can't seem to find patches or repair stuff at Sportsmans, who seem to be the main Intex stockists.

Am I the only one still going strong here?

I've got some rust on the horizontal poles now + the ladder. I just sprayed over both with some Rustoleum to extend their lifespan.

I think I've got another 2 years left then it's either time for a new pool OR I just replace with galvanized pipe / 3d print fittings so I can use the same T pieces.

Probably not, but I am out.. have moved to a new property with an in ground pool..

While there's a size and variable depth advantage (I have two small kids), everything else is a disadvantage.. I have a leak..? Sorry pal, drain the pool, chip out gunite, fix the leak and add new gunite a week's worth of labour etc etc etc..

Your above ground pool springs a leak and you get a patch from brights for 200 bucks and Bob's your mother's brother..

Mine is still standing(through winter). Filled up nicely with rain water.
Planning to start cleaning the pool at the end of the month for summer.
