See on olx and gumtree one for sale in Pretoria. But I am reluctant to buy such stuff from unknown people based in Central Pretoria. Please keep me in mind when you do! I want to connect the TV via Ethernet to the new node so Im not in a massive hurry.
Apologies for taking the thread back - is the Deco E4, or Deco M4 a better product than the Airties 4920?2999 is about par for this product... Its a decent wifii mesh system but you'll need a proper router to do that side of the network.
At that price point the Deco M4s come into play, if you save 30% more the Huawei Q series is perfect
The E4 is less capable than both Airties and the M4. Between M4 and Airties they are both very close to each other. I think the Deco app is easier to use and its more polished, also I believe product updates are more frequent in the m4Apologies for taking the thread back - is the Deco E4, or Deco M4 a better product than the Airties 4920?
Here are the details from the firmware update - definitely improved the performance, both speeds and mesh strength
Thanks for this, where can we download the v3 firmware? The link in the file does not work anymore and this is surprisingly hard to find online.
Has anyone experienced devices disconnecting for a few seconds and then reconnecting after upgrading the firmware. Our phones loses connectivity for a few seconds and then reconnects...
Ugh not quite what I wanted to hear.Yes - happens 2-3 times during the day and our laptops lose connectivity - its bizarre. Makes Zoom / Teams calls a bit weird
FW - 3.61.8.6.4645
Ugh not quite what I wanted to hear.
Current firmware version: 3.61.8.6.4645. No new firmware updates from what I can see...

It looked like my one node was causing the disconnects, so I decided to move my nodes around a bit arranging them by serial number, the smallest plugged into my fiber router and the largest SN in the back of the house.I actually thought it was something in my setup (interference or something) - wonder if there is a way to diagnose what could be causing it? The logs on the devices aren't great for troubleshooting
Edit: The logs seem to have disappeared / no longer work on this new FW

I found that one node just didn't want to connect and had a flashing white power light (and it was the one node that I suspected to be the cause of the issues).
I eventually removed that node via the app and did a hard reset on it (pressed the reset button for 30 seconds until the power light gave a few quick flashes). I had to add it back to my mesh manually once it was up and running (green lights) again.
Maybe it will solve the issues with the disconnects. Ill keep an eye on thing to see how they behave now.
I managed to connect 2 home packs together. So had 6 units on the same network. Speed was at least 70mbps at all important locations. This was for a 100mbps internet connection.
It was at a friends house. Will screenshot it and send when I'm back there again.
How did you manage to do this? All other info on here pointed to that not being possible...
Can you also show your network map from the mobile app
Was the one pack changed to 3 singles or was it also still a triple pack?It was at a friends house. Will screenshot it and send when I'm back there again.
The key is to setup the first homepack, then do the next one. With the 2nd home pack, power one unit at a time.
When it has the 5ghz light flashing at 1 second intervals (you will see 2 airties networks at this point) , hold the reset pin at the back for about 20-30s (not shorter), the unit will reset. Let it boot again. When it's booted again (1 second blink), press the WPS on the first network, then the WPS on this unit. After about a minute, both lights will be solid green. Wait, as the units will reboot , and eventually be on the same network.
Then repeat with each extra unit
The key issue I has was related to patience. These things take a while to boot up and when configuring tend to reboot.
The first few times , I automatically assumed that it had failed too quickly, then started fiddling before it had completed. It takes 3-4 minutes for every configuration change
I added them 1 by one to the existing mesh of 3 units. Was the one pack changed to 3 singles or was it also still a triple pack?
