I'm not sure if you are aware of this sort of thing but there are these institutions out there called "universities". These "universities" are packed to the rafters with academics that are not paid by Big Pharma and who consistently publish research in these sorts of fields and many others.
Visit your local university's science faculty and see what sort of things those academics are up to. I guarantee you someone in that building somewhere is testing something to do with "Big Pharma"

(I just can't help but chuckle whenever someone uses that term).
Where on Earth did you get the idea that "Big Pharma" (OMG!!!!!!!@!!!) is the only one capable of performing these studies or that they are particularly expensive (as opposed to using existing infrastructure to monitor participants)?
