The Anni Dewani Murder Case

Well not read rather heard on the radio news. He will be appealing. And if that fails he will likely appeal to the European court of human rights.

The by-product of all his appeals is of course that SA gets painted in the worst possible light - which he hopes will assist him in his endeavours.

Thanks, Shrien

We wont ever see him here. He hasn't even started on his legal delaying tactics.

And he has many "higher" courts to appeal to - ultimate court being the EU one... many years before even getting to SA. Let alone the SA trial and the many appeals there.

Yet he loved SA before all of this happened!

I still find it such a strange "coincidence" Dewani knew Pox Raghavjee, who was also killed in an apparent hijacking.

It's really hard to keep up with the finer details of these things from across the big pond - could you give me background on whatever it is you're referring to here? Who is Pox Raghavjee?

Dewani's wife Anni was murdered in 2010.

Back in 2007, Dr Pox Raghavjee, just like Anni, also died in a car-jacking incident. He died in King William's Town in the Eastern Cape.

Dewani denies being involved in either murder.

The Raghavjee family members are friends with the Dewani family and Dr Raghavjee's widow went to Cape Town to comfort Shrien after Anni was murdered.

Interesting coincidence indeed!

You think it's strange that being kidnapped, held hostage and your wife getting murdered wouldn't change your opinion of a place?
Of course he loved SA but 'all of this' is likely to change anyon'es mind about the place irrespective of his guilt or innocence.

I was being sarcastic.

I suspect the money will start running out.
God knows how much it has cost him / his family so far. The state, remember has endless resources.
I suspect the NPA will hang in there until the end of time.
It will never sit well that our own citizens are serving jail time while the person who was allegedly behind this, is feeling "too poorly" to attend a murder trial.

I can understand that mentally and psychologically he may be devastated (either by the murder or by being caught out, take your pick :D ) but why he acts and walks like an 80 year old man is beyond me.

Over-acting! Oscar performance right there!

Blu, maybe he was walking like that because he got a good rodgering the night before from that male German prositute he was seeing.

Soooo freaking glad to hear this piece of shi#T is gonna hang for his crimes!

Good!

Stand trial for your crimes.

You don't stand trial for crimes. When you stand trial, there is a presumption of innocence and the onus is on the state prosecutor to prove guilt. The purpose of the trial is to determine innocence or guilt. If the verdict is guilty, then you have committed the crime. Not before.

Except for mybb of course. Innocence or guilt has nothing to do with it. Evidence is irrelevant. :)
