Honeymoon murder accused Shrien Dewani has lost his appeal to avoid extradition from the UK to stand trial in South Africa for the murder of his wife Anni.

In July 2013 Shrien Dewani lodged an appeal with the Supreme Court in UK against the ruling for him to be extradited to stand trial in Cape Town for the murder of his bride.

The businessman, who is said to be suffering from post-traumatic stress, denies orchestrating his wife’s murder in an alleged staged hijacking in Khayelitsha in 2010.

Meanwhile, three South African men are currently serving lengthy sentences for their part in the alleged staged hijacking.

Xolile Mngeni was sentenced to life imprisonment in December 2012. Mngeni was convicted of robbery with aggravating circumstances, premeditated murder and the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Mziwamadoda Qwabe and Zola Tongo were sentenced to 25 years and 18 years for their part in the crime.

Dewani loses extradition delay bid

Honeymoon murder suspect Shrien Dewani has lost a High Court bid to block his extradition to South Africa until he is fit to stand trial, the British Press Association reported on Friday.

A panel of three judges, headed by Lord Chief Justice Lord Thomas, ruled that it would not be "unjust and oppressive" to extradite him if the South African government gave an undertaking as to how long he would be kept in the country without trial.

The court heard on Friday that the government indicated it was willing to give that undertaking.

Dewani, from Bristol, has been fighting removal from the UK to face proceedings over wife Anni's death until he has recovered from mental health problems, including depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Dewani, who is compulsorily detained in hospital under the Mental Health Act, stands accused of ordering the killing of his wife Anni, 28, who was shot as the couple travelled in a taxi on the outskirts of Cape Town in November 2010.

The hearing was in London.

He strikes me as such a pathetic little twit. Wouldn't be surprised if he's a mommy's boy. He had to hire someone to do the dirty work, so how on earth will he ever be man enough to take responsibility for what he did to Anni?
