Really.. it's their top priority with the Hawks and their best investigators working on the case. They have 2 men arrested and they've questioned all the suspects. How would we possibly know more than they do? We know +- nothing. Don't think it's very dangerous at all.

Because all government employees and officals are complete idiots who don't know how to do their jobs and us untrained observers would make better investigators...:erm:
 
I heard General Cele say this morning that no one has been ruled out yet as a suspect. I think that was a aimed at the possibility of the husband's involvement, there's really no other plausible motive for this murder from available evidence. And the idea that she could have been shot accidentally also doesn't gel too when you think how hard it'd be to accidentally shoot a neck.

Shooting a neck sounds accidental!Who shoots someone in the neck?It normally ''Im gna pop a cap in yo a$$ or blow your brains out,shoot you in the heart,kneecap you".Dont really hear about people capping each other in the neck.Who knows!

But he also said that the husband was allowed to go back to the UK because he's not a suspect. Maybe they're changing their tune now.

There is of course the usual "motive" which is simply to kill someone you're robbing for no reason. We have hundreds of robberies turned murders every year for no reason.

They have not charged him so they cannot stop him going overseas,its catch 22.If they charge him and he's innocent then its embarrassing,same as if we dont and he is guilty and charge him later but he is out of the country,catch 22.

I'm sure there are plenty Brits hiding from the law in SA and plenty saffers hiding in the uk etc.They don't extradite just anyone.

If there is a treaty between two countries, the crime in question is a serious one and the suspect can be traced, there is absolutely no reason why s/he would not be extradited.

What do you mean? If he's the chief suspect in a murder case why won't he be dragged back here to answer for himself. Of course that depends on whether the Brits will allow it.

The guy *may have* mudered one person.You think the brit gov will let him come here,be tried and sent to polsmoor prison?

Murder is a very serious crime worthy of extradition. Yes he may be able to convince the Brits that going to Pollsmoor means he's going to be someone else's wife, but that would mean he admits to killing her. The Brits would have no reason to believe he won't get a fair trial here, our legal system really allows you to go the ends of the world to prove your innocence or find technicalities that get you off.

I think you labour under the misconception that if the SAPS has a hunch, extradition takes place. Far from it.

A country will have to place on the table some solid facts and evidence during an extradition request. That is why we say that there is no reason for it to be refused.

I know they will only ask for extradiction if he is guilty and they have enough to put him away (if it comes to that) but i was not sure if this case warranted it,seems like I was wrong.

You can be extradited for nearly anything... even something like fraud. They probably wouldn't bother if it was something petty like you maybe mugged someone.
