Anderson to Haddin, OUT, got him, the perfect outswinger from Anderson! It was on a length outside off, curling seductively away and Haddin couldn't resist, slightly tentative prod where the flashing blade might have saved him, just a tickle of outside edge and Buttler plunged to take a good, low catch

BJ Haddin c †Buttler b Anderson 22 (38b 5x4 0x6) SR: 57.89

Australia trail by 126 runs with 2 wickets remaining in the 1st innings

Just a wee bit of pooh they be in?

A review turned down and then a few balls later:

Hazlewood to Ballance, OUT, back of a length, takes the glove as Ballance tries to drop them out of the way! Hazlewood strikes in the first over after lunch, he got this to climb off a length and the batsman just got a flick through to the keeper, as he aborted an attempt to play the ball

GS Ballance c †Haddin b Hazlewood 0 (7b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

With backs to the wall, the Aussies will be fighting hard from here.

England 430 & 22/2 (10.3 ov)
Australia 308
England lead by 144 runs with 8 wickets remaining

Cruical wicket for Australia. England were starting to look ominous.

It's hard to believe that there are 2 days to go in this test. England have almost done enough to take it by the scruff of the neck. That said, there is talk of plenty of rain on Sunday (day 5). 19 overs or so to go, if the Aussies don't throttle the over rate. If the Poms remain positive, they should be 400+ in front. Interesting.

Well as I predicted, just over 400 runs for the Aussies to get. It's not impossible, but going to be tough.

Barring no serious rain, we will see a result.

Those stats are just amazing. I'd say that would be any statisticians greatest achievement.

And before we all forget - yes, I know the pain of last night is still strong :crying: I feel utterly miserable over this - today was the start of:

2nd Investec Test: England v Australia at Lord's, Jul 16-20, 2015

http://www.espncricinfo.com/the-ashes-2015/engine/match/743965.html

At lunch on day 1 it is:

Australia 104/1 (27.0 ov)
England
Australia won the toss and elected to bat

Although England crow at how they worked him out, Warner got himself out. There is no way any batsmen of any quality in the right state of mind goes down the track in the first session of a test match... unless of course you are David Warner. Anyhow, he did it and paid the price.

He committed suicide on 38. Rogers is still there of 43. Looking forward to the second session, I am.

62.3 Broad to Smith, 4 runs, he just stays deep in the crease, opens the face to a back-of-a-length delivery and glides it through gully but Ben Stokes does very well to haul it back

Do not see this too often. 4 runs all run between the wickets. If so, good running then.

fielder (Ben Stokes?) also flipped the ball pretty far away from himself before he went diving over the boundary rope...

Thank you, Sire :)

Rodgers and Smith are doing well to blunt the attack.
Strange England bowling performance today... bit of swing first up, as expected, but they have lacked aggression.

It's all fine to be creative with the field placing but you need your bowlers to back you up. And they have not!!

9 overs to the second new ball, let's see what that brings.
