The Asic thread

I was thinking it will only leave them between 21 - 31 Jan and reach here a month or 2 later. I havent ordered from them so I dont know how they ship. I went the routine of ordering locally for 40k and my delivery date is before the 15th Jan (ordered on the 23rd Nov). I didnt mind the slight mark up knowing Ill get it sooner than the dispatch date on Bitmain.
Yeah my L3+ I bought locally, and it arrived earlier than expected. This is my first time directly from Bitmain, so will see where it leads. I can wait. I feel more comfortable waiting for this than I did that piece of D3 mind you...

Bitmain's shipping is good. They ship and generally it's in my hands within 5 working days via DHL, but I do have an importer's number.

What put me off from them is reading the comments on their Facebook regarding their shipping and customer service after they mess up the shipping

I doubt you'll find a manufacturer who operates on similar terms without the same complaints. I wanted to get the Baikal X10 until I saw the number of people complaining that although they had ordered batch 1 for September, they were randomly told sorry - you're now in batch 2 and yours is coming in December.

If I had my way I'd only buy from sellers with stock on hand.

That's the dream man! Walk on, slap some cash on the counter, walk out. Imagine that!!

It's ridiculous that it's not possible... I guess it's safer for the manufacturers.
I guess so, but a 2-month lead time.on shipping is a bit much. I feel a 50% deposit with a more reasonable lead time is better, but then again, if you provide kit to millions of people, maybe this is how it works...

I'm sorry there isn't more competition in this space.

I think there will be with time, you can see it already with that other brand, Dragon something, that's doing ASICs now, but I suppose Bitmain has established themselves as the authority in the market, and that's a premium you pay for, in both time and currency.

I see LOADS of disties on Alibaba selling stuff with a sliding scale of cost vs. delivery. The supply is there, but it ain't cheap...

D3s looking good for R4k a month profit right now each. Very quick turnaround. I'm expecting to come back to reality soon... hopefully not.

Problem is all the D3s being delivered between now and Jan . realistic more like 2k. If lucky

Oh man, what I wouldn't do for a pair of S9's right now.

So all this talk of the D3s doing around 20GH/s ... I have a sneaky suspicion Bitmain either have their calcs wrong or they're deliberately fudging it.

Take a look at what Zpool says about my average hashrate vs what the miner says (this is a single D3 - ignore the empty space in the first graph - my setup was down for that time):

This ^ bit was at the far right on the graph above it.... someone is fudging or miscalculating I think.

The joke is after they realised they killed the dash market buy releasing too many D3 miners at once they OC the d3. Original did 15gh/s . Theres no hardware diff they adjusted later releases to do 19.3gh/s hoping it would cover their mess up. The stock temps shoot from 60 to 78/80 in 2 minutes

I just got my 15 x D3's, using Prohashing at this moment. In this case where difficulty is so high what is the best option? Mine DASH and keep it hoping will go up in price when DASH evolution come out? Or just using Prohashing ?

Dash difficulty is so high right now. I'd just opt to be paid in whatever grows the fastest.

Except my point is that what the miner reports and what zpool reports differs wildly.
