The Asic thread

What's going on? Lol. Nicehash is making much more for D3 and Zclassic destroying on Nvidia GPU?

It's because I decided to invest in a fkn Baikal, and now everything will align to the contrary :P
You talking to the man that sold his Ripple at half the current market price few days ago as pump was taking long to come

Yeah but to be honest, I myself am very impressed with how Ripple is doing. I sold a few thousand at R19-odd (I think) when it first climbed, but I'm keen to see where it's going to head in the next year or so. It's really one of those coins I believe has a place in the world, unlike BigBoobCoin... I mean really...

You can be our guinea pig and keep us updated with 24 hours worth of mining :p

Right, so 24 hours of XVG mining, and it's pretty much on par with mining LTC.

Mined 101 XVG with a current exchange value of 0.001127 BTC, where LTC would have given me 0.075 with an exchange value of around 0.001169 BTC as well, so much of a muchness. although, I did get a few DOGE mining Verge, so many happy, to the moon.

This being said, it's nice to have some coin to trade with, and with the ups and downs, it could prove a little more profitable (I've taken quite the liking to Cryptopia as my go-to exchange, btw).

Next round I will mine multipool on Prohashing and get paid in Verge, and then see if that proves more profitable, although, I think it'll be pretty much the same.

Aren't Dogecoin nearly valueless though?

Oh yeah for sure, BUT... it is still being traded, which makes it nice.

To give you an idea of what I was up to today:

Bought 1000 CAPP with LTC (which was up on CAPP around, so made a nice profit on the CAPP),
then bought DOGE with said CAPP (which was up on DOGE around 1800% on the day, so managed to buy around 12 DOGE with 1 CAPP),
then exchanged my to the moon DOGE for LTC (DOGE was up around 10% on LTC at the time), and all in all walked away with a positive.

Did this a couple of times until I could go home, and made about R2000- in profit if I do a quick calculation.

Edit: I see CAPP is still nice and high :)

I started at around 10 last night and am on 176 Verge and 30 Doge - also have a tiny bit of Via... what's that about? I certainly didn't chose to mine either of those...
The miners were off for 30 minutes to an hour today as well while I fiddled for the umpteenth time with the ducting.

So if you actively play with the coins there is a greater profit to be made though its also down to luck for the lack of a better word.

Ducting is a pain in the rear. I have one currently set to blow out via a duct, it's one glorious hell hole that..

I've made a good couple of pennies arbitraging. There is definitely money to be made (and lost if you're not careful). Important thing, stick to your strategy and don't try to be smart. I know a lot of smart poor people.

Yeah, usually it's best to adapt your strategy to your personality - if you lose regularly on short term trading, just accept that you're not cut out for the 5 minute candles and stick to the longer term strategies. If you want some decent advice, follow Andrew Mitchem's weekly vlog... you don't have to sign up for the (expensive) course to get the gist of what his strategies are about. Mostly it's about picking your trades and avoiding FOMO like the plague.

Suppose so. At the moment it's building up a few coins then I can start planning around with such things

Yeah I follow more of a " oh hell, that should work" strategy ;) I've been lucky.

What I could do is once they are sorted with the ducting is keep two one Litecoinpool and move one over to generate some other coins to play with.. 2/3 is not bad

So at the risk of further derailing this thread, here's what you do. Go and mine a thousand whatever coin, something quick and easy to mine.

Pick and exchange, and just start trading with it. Don't expect to make millions, but if you can end with 0.0001 BTC more than what you started with, after fees, etc. etc., that's a good day. Keep doing that until you have your plan down on what to do when, and take it form there, gradually upgrading to the more mainstream coins.
