The Audi Thread

Adaptive cruise control and all other functions that use the front radar sensors decided to stop working yesterday morning. Driving 750km in a day without cruise control was really annoying since my right foot was so used to doing nothing while driving .

What effect would this have on fuel consumption?

It would depend on how you drive, but the Rands cost is probably minimal for the satisfaction you'll get.

What's your average L/100km? Software does improve economy. To what degree, and for both slow and fast driving, I don't know.

That really sux. Car booked in to see what the problem is?

Mine is still at the panel beaters. Expecting it back on Fri/Mon then into Audi for the gearbox.
You think driving with no cruise control is painful? I am driving this rental Toyota Etios to Hartees and back everyday with no auto gearbox, no cruise control, no auto wipers, no auto lights, no power, no decent sound,... This experience has renewed my appreciation for my A5 in a huge way.
Thankfully I only do the Hartees trip Mon to Wed so no pain and suffering for the next two days.

Good luck with getting your beauty fixed!
