Nice, tell us more?

About the remapping? To remove DPF and remap software cost R8k from Sarel at Torque Tuning! He gets the software from a 3rd party tuning company but in terms of actual performance improvements, the vehicle wasn't on a dyno before or after so I have no hard and fast facts to present! It's a quick car to start with, now, it's quicker with better throttle response and fuel consumption. Box feels a lot smoother too!

Re, the car learning the driver style, apparently the remap starts that process from scratch but disconnecting the car battery for +30 minutes has the same effect!

That's really good!!

Thanks!

Yes, reasonable price. More or less market related. R220k would be a good deal, R210k a great deal!

I don't think so, maybe for R200k. B8s are depreciating rapidly.

Hey gents, can any of you give me a fair indication on current market value drop/retention on Audi Q5's over years.

I am looking for a benchmark value. Whilst understanding the numerous variables have a significant impact, let's stick to average milage 20 25000 per annum and single owner, car well looked after.

What percentage of original value should an Audi Q5 2010 model have?

Yeesh... Hard question to answer accurately without internal figures. Over 4 years.... depending on the model and spec, I might estimate around 50% drop?

Congrats! Via a forum?

It was through Auto Trader. I also had a guy from the Audi forum contact me. The trade in on his Isuzu was really bad (Lost R200k from new on a 2013 model) so I doubt he would have taken it... Also had another guy from Cape Town interested, an RS4 owner.

A deal had been concluded last week, just needed the signature for finance. A guy was buying for his daughters first car (wtf??) but she decided to be fussy last minute and get a white one (at R25k more)

Didn't really have much luck selling it but at least it's sold now :)

Thanks for that, I suspected that too.
And can I assume that the further value drop will be much slower from here on forward?

I am particularly referring to

It turns out that the description was very watered down, it is almost a full house spec car.

How do you guys estimate prices of cars? By looking at the current rate in the market or is there some site you'll use as a benchmark?

Is it really that particular?? When I called Audi Claremont last year (or the year before last) I don't recall them being that specific as to what I needed to buy.

By "spec" he rather just means VW coded.

Most bottles of oil also have their equivalent VW code on the back these days as VW/Audi no longer tell you want viscosity you need but rather what code for some retarded reason.

The VW stuff is generally just the rebranded version of what whoever they currently have a deal with.

Personally I use Shell Helix Ultra.

Very nice. Seems to be a good price, but calling another dealer to make sure would be a good idea. The E250 they have on the site also looks nice though, one of the few MB's I don't hate with a passion.

I use Zoopa.co.za

Pretty decent when they actually have a model listed.
Used this site now to check my car out. Is it fairly accurate?
It got my A5 down at R369k while I purchased it only 2 months ago for R314k. Can't be so?

I can't say for certain but I like that they give you a range based on mileage and condition and not just a flat price.

Okay, this is starting to annoy the hell out of me.

When I take my key out the ignition I lose power to all 3 cigarette lighter sockets. Is there a simple way to change something to keep power 24/7 or should I take my a5 to an auto electrician (approx cost to expect)?

Was hoping this was just a setting in the MMI but nada.

Easiest thing to try would be to move the cigarette lighter fuse to an unused fuse slot. Check the wiring diagram in your fuse box.

If there is still no joy, it may require a rewire. A sound installer may be able to explain what is required since they do these things all the time with sound installs.

Final step would obviously be to speak to the dealer...

You can use Transunion.co.za. They wil give you the trade and retail value as used by the dealership according to M&M booklet.
