The Audi Thread

Power taken quite a klap now that I am back home in JHB again.
I drive from Edenvale to Hartees Mon to Wed each week. Plenty of time to play. My new toy felt like she was sick. Told the wife we must holiday more regularly now, and only coastal holidays :)

Same mates talking about what they done to their cars with this racechip thing. They reckon a decent boost in performance and a saving in fuel. One mate (with a Fortuna) reckons be has dropped on average 1.5 to 1.8L per 100 kms. What do you guys make of this? Keen to do it to my A5 if it does work (and don't mess with the motor plan).

Do yourself a favour and drive one, even for interests sake. It'll be marginally slower than your Audi, but it's quite a refined offering.

Marginally? Pffft ;)

I must go for it ; only ever been in one Lexus before (IS350) and it was quite nice. Is that brand new? I don't see any on Autotrader

I know the details of the discounts you're mentioning intimately. What you should do if you're smart, is get the Hilux, sell it after a year or 15,000kms, then get the next, and repeat to make a tidy sum, then get the Audi, cash. :p Just remember the higher costs on these cars, though they are mitigated somewhat when in plan.

"Marginally" Up here you'll slap a IS350F-Sport like it's a [-]redhead[/-] N/A stepchild, at the cost there is something like 0.7 or 0.8 seconds to 100. So it's no S4, but it sure as heck ain't slow. Lexus' usually come fully loaded with very few optional extra, which is also a plus all things considered.

It was released last year, so not many of them running around.

Ah yes, the reduced it to 6 months, initially it was a year AFAIK. My father works for Toyota, make use of the same company vehicle scheme. What division are you in?

It can be done, and would likely give quite a boost. It would void the maintenance if caught though.

A plug and play unit is an option as it is harder to detect if removed before servicing.

Depends entirely on the relationship that you have with your dealership. Many of them will let it slide if you have a good relationship with them, and inform them before doing so...

Mmmm, yes, Audi... Good thing is that its German, but does it look as good as the sexiest sedan to ever come from Germany?

Agreed. I had both my chipped A3 1.8T and A4 1.8T serviced at Audi Airport without any issues.

I see your finger is healing well. I'm so relieved.

Do you have an Audi or are you actively seeking to purchase one?
It has, and to answer your question, no, and neither should anyone else to be honest. Hence me being here, I know that is what you are trying to get at because I have vorsprung durch blitz.

*picture of disgusting vomit*

You sure it was just your finger that was injured by the bike? Seems like your eyes and taste also took a big hit. ;)
