The Audi Thread

I am. And I do like the A5. But it just doesn't give me that same awesome feeling I used to get with my A6.

If Audi Airport let me reverse the deal, then I will take my time and hunt for the right A6 - or A7 if I hit a luck.

Bottom line is I don't think the A5 is worth what I paid. I could have gotten better.

I dunno. Maybe my head is just a mess at the mo. Once you've had an A6 though, it's hard for others to compete.

Geesus dude!! I'm sad for you that you not bonding with the A5!!

I hope you come right with Audi Airport!!

Not sure what you looking for but I like the look of this. Price is good and fully kitted out. Performance top notch. At altitude (or at sea leavel) it's going to murder the 3.2FSI and the 3.0TDI.

I've got the 2.0 TFSI version I'm selling at the moment, great car and I'm sure that 3.0 is even more brilliant!

I tell you what, it's from the same dealership I got my A6 from a week ago. I'm tempted to phone them in the am and ask them if I can't swap!! Just checking the performance specs on the 3.0TFSI and it is super impressive!!

A7s are still expensive though, the A8 is better value for money on a used buy :p

Audi Airport have a Flipping nice white A7 on their floor. Just under R500k :(
I just can't justify dropping half a bar on a car. It don't make sense in my head.
Plan was to drive the A5 for 2.5 to 3 years then grab an A7. Looking at trading every 2.5 to 3 years going forward.

I don't think he'll get all the options he needs with that one ;):D

I would give a 2.0 a test drive again but would prefer a V6. Just love the purr and the smooth drive. Both my A6's where V6's loved them.
I tested drove a 2012 A6 2.0 a few weeks before I got the A5 and was a bit bumbed with it. Was a downgrade from my 2007 A6 so I passed. Need gadgets and it was pretty basic. Was a nice drive for a 2.0L though.

Spec wise.. Bluetooth, Xenons, sunroof, AMI (iPod/SD), electric seats, diesel, Quattro, windscreen water detection and PDC are have to have.
Nice would be adaptive cruise control, B&O sound. As long as sound is very good (had Bose previously and B&O now) I wil be content.

Hmmm well beyond the obvious size issues it has everything he mentioned if you add in a few options :D

Look, this A5 is a beast to play with. The acceleration (even up here in Gauteng) is insanely fast. The gearbox has adapted superbly to my driving style.
When pulling off from a stop street, I don't even need to floor it. Half way down and she changes at 4,000 RPM and cycles through the gears so quick it is almost scary. By the time I am in 5th, I look in the mirror and the rest of the traffic is just barely pulling away - and it's in the distance already!
The power has given me an over sense of confidence which I am struggling to get control of. I have done a few stupid maneuvers in traffic just because I had the power to be able to do so. Got to get a grip on that!

Sit at 128 on the freeway, put foot flat, she thinks for a second, drops to third (from 7th!!) and fkn takes off. It's insane. Getting to 180 is scary fast. I don't do this too much. Just every now and again for the experience

I find if I listen to SAFM in the morning on the way to the office, I take a chilled drive. Cruise control all the way. If I fire up some Nephilim of Sisters, then I get cocky. So it's the music's fault :p

So ye - a fun car.

FCK ME!!!! Check the kit on the A8 Mike!!!!!

I know dude. Insane hey. Looked at that add a few times now. Giving me a woody which is a good sign. :o

Think I should forward it to Audi Airport and see what they can do with it.

I ignored it the first time I saw it because I was concerned with fuel, but when Debeer posted the consumption and it basically matched the 3.2 - well - I went to look again. Sigh...

Dude... You balling in an A8, I think that after the first drive you don't give a damn about no fuel consumption!

In all seriousness though : drive it calmly and it will be reasonable, floor it and it will drink for the short time it needs to pick up speed before it starts overflow and drinks nothing. On that note... Lemme know when you are gonna go to take it for a drive

Lol. Will see what Audi Airport can do with it first. Not prepared to spend more than R350k including on the road etc.. So Airport must make a plan.
