The Audi Thread

Some interior pics. Must say, Audi do make a great looking interior, even if it's almost all one color in mine lol.

Best interiors in the business.

Agreed. The only thing I would change on the interior here (except leather, as it has cloth ATM) would be putting in Walnut wood trim instead of the silver, as well as putting it around the gearshift up to the central column.... Wonder if that could be done?

Don't do it, not on a car like that. Goes well on the bigger Audis...

 during heavy Friday traffic from Edenvale to Pretoria. Route along the JHB airport with minimal Highway usage.

Was 5.3 but then I decided to test launch on the last 10% of the way while in town.

Is that the 1.8? I average around 7-8 on mine.. are you driving like a granny?

Nein, the 1.4. I just put it in drive and let the 7 speed auto do it's thing, with drive select put on efficiency. Used cruise control for a good while and make intelligent use of the petrol overflow and cruising functions. My average at the pumps is also closer to 7, though that is due largely to the daily city drive

Hoping one of you guys can help me with this one.

I found a guy willing to sell me his iPod AMI cable for R200 - brand new and still sealed. He got it from Audi and never used it.
This is the same one here: http://jku.com.au/audi/genuine-vw-oem-audi-ami-media-in-mdi-ipod-cable-000051446c.html

Now the product link shows it is compatible with the A5 2009 onwards. I emailed Audi Airport to verify the code and they said it won't work on my 2011 A5. They then called to explain and said there was a wiring change between 2009 and 2011.

Do any of you buy this? Thoughts? Can anyone confirm what Audi Airport said or will this cable work?

Hard to say as it is linked to the generation of AMI and radio installed. The only way to be exactly sure would be with testing...

Ask the guy the color of the plug. If there is any blue it is the current version, otherwise it is the previous generation. I know the previous gen cable won't work in my A3 for example as it is 2014

Hmmm I think you have the 3G system in the A5.. That cable has the blue around the plug which means it is the 3G one.

However, you get the plain 3G system and 3G plus. Shouldn't make a difference, I think it should work

EDIT: Any way to meet up and see for yourself before buying? I wouldn't want you to blow 200 bucks for nothing
