Definitely!
While the A3 Sedan and Sportback will hold resale value well as the model is new, those interested should wait for the new A4 IMO...
When's that dropping?

2015, perhaps only available in 2016 though, at least here.

Finance deals on new outgoing models can be pretty sweet though. Worth considering (I think) if one is going to be happy with the outgoing model and one is well aware of the increased depreciation when the new models arrive.
If going pre-owned then I suppose push the sales guy hard for a bargain due to the impending new models.
Hope it's nice. Not a huge fan of the current one.![]()

This may be off topic, but what market is the 2 series meant to compete in? I mistakenly thought it would be up against the A3 sedan... But it's priced ridiculously high.

A1 is significantly cheaper than the 1 series. 1 series is closer to the A3.A1 - 1 Series
A3 - 2 Series
A4 - 3 Series
...
I would imagine.

FTFY.
Why not?
Yeah it's dawned on me that I probably won't be getting that anytime soonI could have bitten the bullet and got one, but then I wouldn't have been able to afford my Wedding / honeymoon and save for a decent deposit on a place much closer to work
.
My main priority is to get an automatic in the mean time for the same monthly repayments as my Alfa (+~ R6k pm) and something a bit bigger than a hatchback, which will retain its value (I've learnt my lesson).
Looked at a Q3, but they're also quite expensive.
Fair enough. I do like the facelift lights and feel it brings a lot more to the ageing body. Not many can resist the Attack of the Clones look. The interior is far too dated now as well. New Merc interior is fantastic, and I'm excited to see what Audi bring to the table now that they've seen what the competition has.
A4 colour driver information cluster screens seem to be default now with the newer models, which IMO adds a lot for the driver. My old one had the awful monochrome driver info, and now I have colour and it means a lot to me.![]()

Not crazy about the interior (new A3's is miles ahead, imo.) and it's never felt particularly dynamic to me. Almost like steering a ship, and yet it doesn't have a lot of space inside. My dad's had 3 A4s in a row (currently has a 2006 B7 2.0T), and this latest one is the largest, and yet has the least space inside. Or at least feels that way. :wtf:
