I am taking it to them in the AM.

They said they will send PG glass around to fit a new windscreen. The interior dent they want to look at. They will need to order a new panel as I won't accept them leaving it. My car was in perfect condition (minus accident damage).

Discovered something else... Sigh.
When I fetched my son from school today, he asks me of the door handle is new too cause it feels different. Huh?
So I go check it out and it's all rough. Not polished or anything after the spray. So they must do that too. They did the left rear. Just not the front.

I clearly suck at checking out my car after it has been worked on.

Based on what Debeer said, the sound is from the engine - and not the gearbox as I thought. Would this mean the sound could be different depending on engine capacity? And maybe that is why I hear it and other don't?

Definitely audible on the 1.8T S-tronic!
 
Got back from the panel beaters now. Said to drop my car off next Thu and they will take care of everything. And at their cost - so not going on my insurance.
All I can ask for really. Just a bit annoying having to go back and forth to these various places to get my car finished.
 
I have dealt with panelbeaters on my Audi's and BMW plenty of times in the past.

Not once was my car properly fixed, polished and assembled neatly. They employ any old oke from the street to do the menial work like stripping, polishing and interior panels etc.

You would be horrified by the swirl marks left behind by someone who knew nothing about polishing cars.

It's impossible to properly check a car when you collect it, because you are rushed and have a brain full of admin.

I was in my enclosed area so could not hammer it for long. Did a quick first gear so should be able to hear it on the first shift. After that I tapped off a bit, but you can still hear it in the second shift.

My hearing must be going - I didn't hear any click? The "burp" sounds more like exhaust note to me than anything else - and nothing I would worry about. Sounds cool.

EDIT: And glad to hear you daughter ok. That must have been a mind-fook of note! Damn crime in SA...

I got my intro to this on the welcome pack I received when I got my A5. Thought it was pretty cool, them forgot about it. You reminded me of it :) Must go check it out some more.


Got my car back from the panel beater today. Th you did a really shoddy job. As mentioned earlier, the door handle was not completed, they cracked my windscreen, put paint makes all over the inside door panel, and dented it.
Discovered on Wed, the rubber door seals were coming off too. Talk about a crap job.
They did get the door spraying and alignment right though. I took the car to Audi to confirm this.

So I took it back to the panel beaters today. They corrected all the issues and I am happy now. They went over and above the fix up and also filled in the odd paint chips/scratches on my car, and said I can use them anytime I want to get chips/scratches sorted out - free of charge. Great if they live up to their word.
 
Anyone had any luck in activating NAV in their Audi? I'm picking up my first Audi, a Q3 (see my related thread) either today or tomorrow and whilst it has the NAV button (and space for the NAV SD Card), apparently NAV isn't offered in SA.

Is this true? I see its an accessory on Audi SA's website though.
