Audi Sport chief to jump ship to Bugatti – report

Stephan Winkelmann will reportedly leave his position as CEO of Audi Sport for the top job at Bugatti.

The CEO of Audi Sport will reportedly leave his post later this year to take up the role of president of Bugatti.

According to Autocar, Stephan Winkelmann will vacate his position as the head of Ingolstadt’s performance division to replace Wolfgang Dürheimer at Bugatti, which also falls under the Volkswagen Group banner. Dürheimer, the report adds, is in turn likely to hang on to his position as chairman of Bentley Motors.

Winkelmann, of course, has not spent long at the helm of Audi Sport, having taken the reins in March 2016 when the division was still known as Audi Quattro GmbH. Before that, he spent more than a decade as president and CEO of Lamborghini.

The British publication adds that Michael-Julius Renz, who is currently leading Audi’s sales division in China, appears likely to step into Winkelmann’s role at Audi Sport. Stephen Reil, the head of technical development at Audi Sport, will also leave the division, claims the report.

According to Autocar, the 52-year-old Winkelmann’s first tasks at Bugatti will include developing and introducing “further derivatives of the Chiron”.

Does anyone know what the s line exterior package for R20k on the A3 adds?

Pretty sure it adds the s line exterior package...

I don't see an s line interior package though and I thought that you're meant to get s line stitching in the seats.

Though I thought it was obvious I was querying which components came with it

The following equipment is included in the S line exterior package:
Front and rear bumpers, side sill trims and diffuser insert in a striking, sporty design
Radiator grille in high-gloss black
Diffuser insert painted in platinum grey
S line roof edge spoiler
Front fog lights
Front fog light surrounds in high-gloss black
Chromed trims for exhaust tailpipes, single or double tailpipe depending on engine variant
Door sill trims with aluminium insert and S line logo
S line logos on the front wings

Not bad for R20k considering it's Audi, those parts must cost the earth aftermarket.

So after years of weiging up the options I have decided on my next car and will be acquiring it next year after June.
Only problem is in the last 4 months, I have only seen 2 for sale, both the wrong colour

Well knowing exactly what you want and having the money in hand is the best way to do car shopping.

Also it means flying up country to acquire it isn't a problem as you already know what you are looking for.

What pisses me off thought with these packages is that it's not like they discount you for the original stock parts that never go on the car.

I was to thinking along the same lines but aren't the parts factory fitted on the production line or do they take a stock model at the showroom and replace parts?

They should be factory fitted which is exactly why it irritates me that you can't buy the "bare" car and spec from there.

In some cases it can also be fitted to a car on the floor.

I almost think your manual will give instructions if you can and how to jump start

Is it safe to jump start my Audi A4 2011?
If you use a booster pack or something similar sure no issue really, but the electronics on those cars are very sensitive and using another running car has in some extreme cases fried parts of the electronics due to the charging and electrical systems of older cars not being as stable and supressing spikes because they really didn't need to.
If your battery is not stone dead and you have a good set of jumper leads and the other car has a battery with the same or higher amp rating then try with the other car off, bearing in mind that cranking to much may drain the other battery.

Saying that I have never had issues jump starting cars if you follow the proper procedure and use common sense like getting a solid connection and making sure positive goes to positive ect.

As a side note jumper cables you buy at spares shops these days are crap. Make your own. Welding cable works well.

Yes.

Read the manual.

Thanks for the info. I will read the manual but I am not with my car right now but just wanted to arrange for someone to meet me later if it is possible...

There is a particular way to hook it up so it's not battery to battery.

Then it will be just fine.

Cool. Would pushing the bugger work too? It's a manual...

Yeah that would be fine too if you have enough battery for the dash lights to go on and be nice and bright.

If those aren't lighting up you'd need one very long hill and probably still fail.
