Every coach has their own philosophy. For Broos, one of his requirements is loyalty. Dino has never been the most loyal to the Bafana cause and to each his own, we can't fault him for that. He is making money to look after himself at the end of the day.

Broos will reward guys like Sydney Mobbie who are not the most talented but very loyal to the cause.

Like how, has he ever been called up and refused to come? All I remember about the guy is him being a top goalscorer and the national coaches totally ignoring him for some odd reason.

He has not exactly been playing in high level leagues. If he wanted the callup badly, he could have returned to the PSL.

In countries like England and Brazil, guys will make the sacrifices to get the callup.

There may be some politics preventing him from getting called up but if he wanted the call up badly, he could have made the sacrifices to make it happen.

And he is not the only one in that situation. There are other eligible people in Euro leagues that do not get called up. Lars Veldwijk was doing well in Korea but we know that that may not translate to results in Africa as Asian and African systems are very different.

Lack of natural gifts? Croatia has had one of the most technically gifted midfields for the last decade plus. People who underestimate them simply don't know their players.

Yeah, our performances in World Cups when we made it where not bad. They went out on goal difference in 2002 and 2010. The 2002 team IMO was good enough for a quarter-final run in that WC and we would have made the knockouts had Andre Arendse not made that goalkeeping howler against Spain.

1998, we only lost outright to France who went on to win the tournament. They were competitive against Saudi Arabia and Denmark and 98 was understandable as it was their first time in the WC.

Eish, I felt for Andre Arendse that day.

For me, he is the best goalkeeper we have had, closely followed by Hans Vonk then Brian Baloyi and Itumeleng Khune.

Honourable mentions for Senzo Meyiwa and Darren Keet.

Nigeria before this tournament were not great at all. Drawing to both Zim and Lesotho. They are getting the job done in this tournament though. Don't look great but not terrible either. We could get over the line but it's going to be tough. Same as Morocco but different :).
 
We have beaten Nigeria before, but it has never been at the magnitude of this game, it would send a very strong message if we did, plus they have always reminded us that the only reason we won the 96 Afcon is because they were not there.
 
They are definitely beatable. I am not as worried like I was with Cape Verde, that was our toughest game.

This is where we need the midfield to be in it. I hope they will be on the day. My main worry is Percy Tau, he has gone to sleep and that gives us a problem.

I can actually see Evidence scoring in this game. I am quite liking Mihlali upfront as well, not bad at all.

we needed someone to feed off the layoffs he was winning, we had opportunities to cut them up but he was too isolated at times tau should've positioned himself closer
 
Proper African production from super sport. Sound completely out of sync
 
not a bad start. Looks like it might be a scrappy one, where one piece of magic wins it or a single mistake at the back is the difference.
