That could be part of Shakes arrogence. He has previously said that Tyrone Arendse is as good as David Beckham. Maybe he likes home based players too much.
 
I dont get the hype. We needed 6 points to qualify but only got 1 and ppl are upbeat about this team?
 
The U17 team is going to the World Cup:

Amajimbos qualified for the U-17 World Cup for the first time after beating Cameroon 3-1 at the African Youth Championship in Niamey, Niger on Sunday.

Team captain Nelson Maluleke bagged a brace to go with an own goal from Fokem Achille, while Christian Bayemi netted for the west Africans at the General Seyni Kountche Stadium.

Molefi Ntseki's charges advanced to the semi-finals of the CAF event where they will meet Nigeria - thereby also earning a ticket to the U-17 World Cup, taking place in Chile from October 17 to November 8.

Kickoff

This is a huge step forward for SA football. For far too long, SA juniors have not been exposed to World Cup football, teams have even failed to qualify for their AFCONs. Now the players will get to play against top players in the world, before getting to the senior team. The other advantage is that, as far as I understand, the World Cup requires clubs to release players. If SA has any quality U17 players in other countries, they tend to come out of the woodwork for these tournaments.

Not sure if it was televised, I heard the last 20mins on radio 2000 on the way to work

Jali scores, but then gets his 2nd yellow card to be sent off. Bafana will have to play out the last 5 minutes and added time with 10 men.
