The Bafana Bafana Thread

Watched the highlights, wat a crazy final. Some of the antics from Moroco was scandolous so glad Senegal won.

Didn't watch all the matches but apparently many calls went for Morocco and against their oponent (However in football this often happens) but trying to stealing the keepers towels in the semi's and final is a joke.

That is pathetic behaviour.

I do not follow AFCON comps too closely, but I do pick up that playing away in North Africa is often a case of going up against the opposition and officials. Not that CAF has a good track record when it comes to officiating in general, but it can be particularly bad for away teams in North Africa.

Here is a short dsummary from Grok, will be intretsing to see how CAF handles this

Based on recent reports from AFCON 2025, here are a few alleged interference examples involving Morocco:
1. Towel stealing: In the semi-final vs Nigeria, stadium officials reportedly removed goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali's towel twice, potentially disrupting his preparation during rain. Similar claims in the final vs Senegal with Edouard Mendy's towel.
2. Referee favoritism: Accusations of biased VAR decisions, like awarding penalties to Morocco while denying them to opponents (e.g., vs South Africa and Mali).
3. Pre-match sabotage: Claims of destabilizing tactics against Senegal, including logistical disruptions.

Senegal will probably also get punished never seen a team and coach walk off the pitch in a final.

Did all the soccer fans quite afcon after SA was kicked out?

Congrats Senegal. Start of the tournament the more North African teams looked way better. But they played some boring defensive soccer in the knockouts.

I imagine that SABC saw a much larger audience for Bafana's quarter final than the final.

Ridiculous unsportsmanlike behavior.

I just saw tgem complaining about training facility or something and didn't think too much of it.

Morocco are the champions.

Morocco have been officially crowned champions of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after the CAF Appeal Board overturned the result of the final against Senegal. The decision comes after extraordinary scenes in Rabat where the Lions of Teranga walked off the pitch in protest, leading to a retrospective 3-0 forfeit victory for the host nation.

Everything looks good. Possession, defense looks okayish. They have the ball. Just not hitting the target. Even with the ridiculous manufactured penalty.

Every other sport has figured out how to use a tv ref.

Very dominant midfield performance by bafana but useless at finishing.

Possession means nothing if U can't do anything with it..and why the **** is foster still in this team

It was a very disappointing game, the fact that we can't score taken in consideration with the fact that Broos has selected a super defensive squad should worry us, besides Zwane who is of advanced age, and Mofokeng who has no experience and has often flopped on the big stage, there us no other creative midfielder in the team.

Defence and midfield are good our attack is lacking
I have looked back at all the major tournaments we played, this is the bluntest strike force we have ever had in the history of Bafana Bafana, the creative part of our midfield is made up of a player who is on the brink of retirement and has played very few games for his team, Zwane, and a young player with potential but little experience who often flops on the big stage, Mofokeng.

It honestly doesn't look good.

RIP to Masinga, Shoes and Sizwe. This was a team of warriors.
I wonder what Linda and Fish are currently doing
