The Banting/LCHF Thread

I think soda water is fine. How much should a 1.45m person weigh? I can't tell if 45kg is a lot or a little. It sounds tiny, but then so is 1.45m. How tall are you?

Assuming average muscle mass, BMI at that height and weight is 21.4 so body fat would be normal to low.

1/3 cup Coconut flour
1 pinch Salt
1/2 tsp Baking powder
1/2 tsp Psyllium Husks
2 Eggs
1/4-1/3 cup Milk/Cream
Sift the dry ingredients together.
Beat the eggs with 1/4 cup of milk and add to the dry ingredients. Allow the mixture to stand for a minute to firm up. If it is too stiff, add the rest of the milk.
Heat enough coconut oil in a pan to cover the base of the pan.
Turn the heat down to LOW and either scoop spoons full of batter into the pan, or you can roll into balls and press down slightly.
Fry each side for 2-3 minutes.
These burn easily so FRY ON LOW HEAT.
Only turn them once after frying on the one side.
Cut them open and serve with butter and your choice of filling

University of Eastern Finland

Summary:

A new study shows that a relatively high intake of dietary cholesterol, or eating one egg every day, are not associated with an elevated risk of incident coronary heart disease. Furthermore, no association was found among those with the APOE4 phenotype, which affects cholesterol metabolism and is common among the Finnish population. In the majority of population, dietary cholesterol affects serum cholesterol levels only a little, and few studies have linked the intake of dietary cholesterol to an elevated risk of cardiovascular diseases. Globally, many nutrition recommendations no longer set limitations to the intake of dietary cholesterol.

Tried these last week. Mine came out like scones. Was still good though. The kids enjoyed it.

This... except for the sauce on top

/snip

made it yesterday, used lamb mince instead of beef, replaced the bacon spice stuff with Robertson's braai spice and cooked it in the oven, no sauce added, bloody nice
