The Banting/LCHF Thread

I am a type 2 diabetic and have been using insulin for 8 years now. I am banting for 10 months now and my doctor recommended I stop using the insulin. It's only been a few days but everything still looks good. (regarding my blood sugar level). The main reason for starting with this lifestyle was my high blood pressure which now has a lower average reading than before.

If this isn't proof that this lifestyle contributes to becoming healthier, then I don't know what will.

Oh and I look and feel great. I started at 108kg, and am down to 90kg. Still looking to loose another 5kg.

Well done.

+1 A tossed salad without it would just not be a true 'tossed' salad .....

and keep the minds out the gutter

I must admit, lettuce is quiet eeeeuw! I can eat a green salad without lettuce - cucumber, feta, cheese, little bit of avo and maybe some tomato.

Remember that these were for 3 people. Shared between wife, myself and our 3yo daughter. I only had one. Wife and daughter devoured the other three.

Somebody on here was looking for a spiral cutter earlier.
I have a similar looking one. They're really nice - just make sure you buy courgettes with good um...girth - else you don't get much out of it. Also works well for tubers and onions.
