The Banting/LCHF Thread

That bacon roll looks nice, Fanie.
Week 2:
Lost 2.1kg for total of 4.5kg. Lots of centimeters lost over a 8 measure points.
Wife lost 2.3kg for total of 3.5kg.
Daughter unexpected had to take up a new post in another town, so not to sure how she did.

I also struggled a bit more this week. Kept on feeling hungry.
I was a lot more committed this week.

Well done. If you feel hungry you probably aren't eating enough fat (if i understand this stuff correctly). Try avo

@sinbad ammi rite?

Protein is the appetite suppressant actually.

Eat biltong when you get hungry.

Thx, will see how it goes.
Forgot to mention my sugar levels.
I averaged 27 when I started. Was 12.4 this morning, but I reckon I average about 14.5 the last week.

Had haddock and avo last night. Weight still staying same... probably still recovering from the weekend where the only thing I did wrong was drink whiskey and water.

There's no fixed allowance really... But snacking on biltong if you're hungry isn't going to push you over it.

Thank you. Before I started on this eating plan I used to drink 1 serving of protein whey daily. It has 23grams of protein and 3 grams of carbs per serving. I stopped drinking it when I started on LCHF.

So a whey protein is a NO on LCHF ?

Personally I wouldn't eat it as I prefer real food ;) But if you use it to replace a meal, you're probably ok.

I'm a few months in the banting thing now. Don't crave anything, don't get hungry during the day, a lot.
But, yesterday I realized that I miss peanut butter on wholegrain bread. My daughter was making herself a snack last night. Peanut butter and wholewheat used to be my stapple food, since I could remember. Now, after 39 years, I just stopped eating it. Jislaaik-it...

Ja PB is something I miss too. Almond butter and Macadamia butter are nice, but not quite the same... they also taste like they'd go better with chocolate spread lol.

This week I'm really struggling. Have terrible headaches, some dizzy spells. My 3rd week now on LCHF.

Try some unrefined salt in water. A teaspoon of pink salt in 500ml of water in the morning helps me. Don't use refined table salt. (looks @ sinbad)

Plenty of info if you google.

Hi, Im trying the Cauliflower pizza tonight, well perhaps tomorrow night since i did not know i need "Goat cheese" WTF ever that is,

Has anyone followed this receipt, and does it work/taste good, or should i rather do the trusted meatza?

goat's cheese? for why?

I followed this one. Better than a meatza imo. And remember, I'm the veggie hater.

What's in the pink salt that's so good?

The chemical composition of Himalayan salt includes 95–96% sodium chloride, contaminated with 2–3% polyhalite and small amounts of ten other minerals. The pink color is due to iron oxide.

Rusty salt. Winner.
