Guys, quick question.
Lets simplify, Say I ate one chicken breast and 200g of Broccoli three times a day. The daily carb content is the 7g per 100g found in broccoli = 6 x 7 = 42g
If I were to limit my carb consumption to 25g per day then I should really be eating only 3 x 100g of broccoli which equals 21g of carbs.
Not necessarily partaking in banting just looking at the carb content of meals.

LCHF diets exclude the fibre content from carbs.

Maple syrup isn't cane sugar, which is why it is Banting friendly. Just don't eat it in huge quantities!

What do you guys think of the "Rainbow chicken" Viennas?, looking at the carb content its i think 0.5 Carbs per Vienna, I can live with those figures, frying them the mornings in butter are bloody delicious. But cant help to think something that tastes that good cant be good for me.

Processed meat, I'd keep it to a minimum

Yeah I agree with like polony, and those pink Viennas...., Even the carb content on the packet is high. But these RainBow chicken vienna's carb content is low, and its so convenient and easy to prepare, at R55pKG its not cheap but also not crazy expensive. Bacon costs me R64pKG and it also does not taste as good, its also to salty.
So things like buck-worst is also out?, and Russians? how about Salami?. I'm avoiding droewors and biltong at this stage.

Maple Syrup is 14g / 20g = 70% pure sugar . So i don't quite see how this will ever be "banting friendly" . There's zero fat in maple syrup which is probably why it might give people the idea it is healthy, but this is as far as i'm concerned a "high carb" item.

Corn Syrup is 16g/ 20g sugar, so while maple itself might add something extra into it, we are still talking about liquid sugar here.

Even Honey is 17g/20g all sugar , hence why even that is not recommended at all. Honey still seems to be favored above any kind of syrup if you HAVE to add sugar to something.

As far as i can see your best bet for "sweetness" on a pure banting diet is Stevia/Xylitol .

I also prefer sucralose over stevia, so i am not sure what exactly the reason for sucralose being on the red list and stevia on the green list other than sucralose being more artificial than stevia. As far as i can see, stevia is being punted as being "natural" , however it can be quite artifical in the form we are buying it.

A quick google simply states artificial sweeteners has this effect, however again, i assume only reason they are on the banting red list is because it's artificial and totally unrelated to their carb/fat content.

Instead, according to scientific studies, artificial sweeteners can increase appetite and maintain cravings for sweet food.
This could be because the body increases insulin secretion in anticipation that the sugar will appear in the blood. When this doesn’t happen, blood sugar drops and hunger increases.

Must admit I don't miss sugar at all when "being good".

Got some Xylitol, but will only use for baking.

I am eager to try this.
