No idea what to call it. Bacon mince roll?? Well, whatever, here we go...

1) Layout streaky bacon next to each other on some foil (while be rolling it closed in the foil later). I put 8 pieces next to each other, overlapping a little, and then again 8 above overlapping.
2) Take about 500g of mince, I spiced it with just salt and pepper, but I guess you can use whatever.
3) Take the mince and build a thin layer on top of the bacon.

4) Add toppings. You can obviously add whatever you like. I used a base of white cheddar, mushrooms, green pepper and feta.

5) Use the foil to help roll the bacon over into a roll and then close the foil.

6) You can then probably put it in the oven, or put it on the fire. I had mine on the braai of course. About an hour on the braai, with some proper heat applied.

The other one I made (this one had cream cheese instead of the white cheddar and the feta)

Looks amazing! :-) did something similar, but mixed the mince with some crushed roasted tomatoes, more bacon, mozzarella, cheddar and origanum.... tasted like a calzone without the dough

that sounds good as well. also bacon on the outside? flat mince (where it was already mixed with the others) and then rolled?

No mixed the mince with everything:) but also rolled in bacon. Baked in foil and finished it off by frying it in butter for a crispy outside

I think about 45 minutes? Yes 200C....but the time will all depend on thickness of your roll, mine was about 10cm in diameter

Thanks for the info

I'm thinking about replacing the mince with some spicy mutton sausage from a local butcher - they are pretty pure, not filled with junk, I think I've had enough of mince for a while now lol

Think I use a rolling pin or something to flatten the sausages

Or just take it out of the casing? Or blits in a food processor? :)

Next time I want to add some chorizo to the mix

According to the scale I lost 2.5kg this past week. So in 2 weeks a total of 4.3kg. I'm surprised by the weight loss this week because I was struggling. Don't know what I'm doing wrong but I feel hungry all the time.

Yep. I have been on exactly the same weight for 3 weeks, but centimeters disappear

If you're hungry, eat something. Can recommend biltong ...

I was so surprised how tough I was over the weekend.

1) Friday braai. Had whisky, snacks all around me... didn't have 1 single nik nak. Just had my piece of steak and some wors. Nothing else, know that's not too good.

2) Saturday braai. My wife made her famous garlic potato dish, and fanie had some coleslaw, along with lamb ribs from the fire. Had whisky. Had a avo for lunch. Just with salt. My whole life i've been missing out on this schit. What a dummy I am.

3) Sunday braai. Had the meat up top. No alcohol. Wife made us creamed spinach. Fork me, why haven't I tried that before! So good...

Well done Fanie !

2,8 in my first week but nothing in my 2nd . This normal ?

Found one possible explanation for this on reddit, thought it made a lot of sense:

Fat loss and weight loss are two separate things, you'll have swings in weight loss but your fat loss is constant as long as you keep a caloric deficit. After you lose the initial water weight you'll slowly regain it as your body adapts to keto, this means that you can have rapid weight loss during the first three weeks and then a really slow loss (or plateau) for several weeks, sometimes months, when you gain back those 5-10 lbs of water. During all this time you're still losing fat if you're keeping a caloric deficit, the fluctuations is body weight (water, food in the digestive system) are just masking the fat loss.

Say you're at a caloric deficit of 500 kcal, the first three weeks you'll lose 21 * 500 = 10,500 kcal, which is 10,500 / 3,500 = 3 pound of actual fat. On top of this you'll lose the 5-10 lbs of water, so you might see it as this:

Week 1: 5 lbs (-4 water, -1 fat)
Week 2: 3 lbs (-2 water, -1 fat)
Week 3: 2 lbs (-1 water, -1 fat)
Week 4: 1 lbs ( 0 water, -1 fat)
Week 5: 0 lbs (+1 water, -1 fat)
Week 6: 0 lbs (+1 water, -1 fat)
Week 7: 0 lbs (+1 water, -1 fat)
Week 8: 0 lbs (+1 water, -1 fat)
Week 9: 0 lbs (+1 water, -1 fat)
Week 10: 0 lbs (+1 water, -1 fat)
Week 11: 1 lbs ( 0 water, -1 fat)
...

So you lose "weight" the first weeks as you lose both water and fat, and then at the fifth week you stall as you start gaining back the 6 lbs if water. If you gain back 1 lb of water weight per week you'll have six weeks of stalling before you start losing 1 lb per week again, and by that point you've actually lost those 10 lbs in real fat (four weeks of weight loss, six weeks of stalling, but actually losing 1 lbs of fat per week). You might gain back more water, or less water, or more rapidly, or less rapidly, you might seem to gain weight or only lose after plateaus.

You sure you braai'd enough?

That bacon roll looks nice, Fanie.
Week 2:
Lost 2.1kg for total of 4.5kg. Lots of centimeters lost over a 8 measure points.
Wife lost 2.3kg for total of 3.5kg.
Daughter unexpected had to take up a new post in another town, so not to sure how she did.

I also struggled a bit more this week. Kept on feeling hungry.
I was a lot more committed this week.
