The Banting/LCHF Thread

You can make a million variations of completely flour free stuff - for eg you want a flour free chocolate cake take 4 eggs, 2 tablespoons macadamia butter (or peanut butter), 2 tablespoons cream cheese, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, xylitol or honey to sweeten, beat, bake in oven for 30 minutes and easy no flour chocolate cake - make icing with cream cheese, cocoa powder and some honey or xylitol or spread on some thistlewood sugar free jam.

Anyhow down 2kg last week, 16 more to go for target - I have been blackmailed to lose 20kg and its something I really want so pushing hard here.

I bought some of that banting revolution pre mixed bread, the 230g variety. It was delicious. It was so lekker to eath "bread" again with cream cheese and salmon. ! and cheese and tomato and mustard!!

went from 74 to 80kg after going back to bad eating habits. Still not bad like i used to be, 90kg
But back on banting because
1 I feel so much better all day
2 Damn i got eating issues
3 I look good naked and when dressed up to go :D
4 Thanks to this thread for starting my journey

It does feel a lot better to be on a diet of foods that don't set you on a constant buzz/crash cycle. I love the slow, constant energy that low carb eating gives me.

I have kids and they notice how much more energy I have in the evenings. That's something I never even thought was an issue.

Also: clothes fitting more comfortably is something that feels good all day every day.

Glad to hear you're back on it.

I tried that bread thing. It's got good texture but is pretty flavourless. Next time I'd add more salt and maybe some melted butter.
