The Banting/LCHF Thread

Yeah that one, the 16 day EBC trek.
Pity about going in December as going to be a tad coldish at -10 - 15, but its the only time we can go.

Anyhow the weekly hikes in preparation and green list banting should get to the target weight, only 14.3kgs to go

Not bad at all!

Yeah it's nice for a quick snack and it's quite tasty.

Just a heads up, I've been enjoying the Woolies Carb Clever bars as a quick snack. I think they're worth it when they're on special (R40 for 4, so R10 each), but slightly overpriced at R15 normally.

They're currently on special. I like the Almond, Pecan & Macadamia Bar.

Thanks for the heads up. I was at Woolworths during lunch, saw your post and grabbed 4 to try.....

Any of you had Boston Cheesecake? Wife made some on the weekend, ridiculously good ( half cake, half cheesecake ). Took 3 blocks of cream cheese and a cup of cream!

Sounds great.

Sooooon!! Finishing my cut in about 2 weeks time and then I can stop religiously counting calories and enjoy calorie bombs like this.

To be honest I don't know how I am going to get an extra 1000 calories in everyday.

Well, actually is quite easy. Nuts, cheese and biltong. But I've become so set in eating the same stuff for lunch every day that it is going to be a big adjustment and mind-shift to change my eating habits again.

I'm actually the other way around at this stage... i'm eating the right stuff, but all the high calorie things like biltong and cheese... which doesn't help weightloss :(

btw those low carb bars from woolies .......bleh

SO and I shared the macadamia/pecan/almond one and the seed+almond one last night.

So preferred the seed one, I preferred the macadamia one.

I will buy more this weekend for the banting cupboard at home. I want to get my 6yo and 2yo eating these instead of the sugary crap my SO buys them....

I started with the cocoa one, will try a different one tomorrow, though if I have to choose a snack bar, I prefer the caring candy chocolate toffee bar, only 3gr carb.

Re the woolies bars, yeah, indeed, I suppose a better option for kids, if only I was that responsible when my kids were that age.

Don't follow this thread too closely but saw these ice-creams earlier at Organic Zone in Tokai. Thought of this thread. Was about R90 I think.
