The Banting/LCHF Thread

I make my own: boil a pot of water, throw chicken bones in, turn the pot down to low and let it simmer overnight or while I'm at work. When it's done I strain out the solids, pour into jars, and when they've cooled down I put them in the freezer. Apparently they can keep for 3 months or more if you freeze them.

It's good to add some vegetables like celery, carrot, leek, bay leaf, black pepper, onions

Tried the checkers Banting bread loaf. It's not bad. Has a bit of odour but once ucadd butter or anything else it's really good.

My update

So I have been cheating with fruit lately and a castle lite, lots of castle lites.

Current weight is 77.7 still good
Cholesterol’s is 5.0
But i seem to have lossed cm went from a pants size 40 to 32
Finally found a place that makes decent Banting bread, very expensive but tasty. It’s from dischem

The checkers Banting bread is not R60? Its R24.

Had a toasted cheese sandwich yesterday and it was amazing

That small loaf that's like R60? I need a cheaper alternative...
yes, R59.90c or something.

The thing is many home made bread ingredients are the same price. But I did fine a home made bread mix for R30. But I haven't found it again. It was made by Nomu. I think I put a screen shot of it on here.

Also I suppose you can by the ingredients separately and make it yourself.

I finally broke 76kg. I have been bouncing between 76 - 78 kg what feels like ages, probably around 3 months.

I had to cut my total calorie intake to break it. I was comfortably originally under 1700cal per day. But it didn't seem to result in fat burn anymore :(. So I have brought it down to like 1200 - 1500. I often buy those boost drinks, they are like 250cal and good for a quick break fast. I also make my own fat shake from the TRMR, but I find that it doesn't make you feel as satiated. So I change the recipe a bit. I add more oil, like avo oil and replace the milk with almond unsweetened milk.

Only seen a small loaf for R60, what brand is that bread? Will look for it

No brand. Checkers bakery.

Taken from Checkers pamphlet

Similar looking. Bit darker and no flour on top :)

Tastes good toasted and really holds up well. Kept a loaf out for 5 days and still fresh

woah!!!, How have I missed this? I always shop at checkers that is right around the corner from me. I will look out for it.

tblsp Peanut Butter x Eggs x tsp Bakingpowder -> oven on 180 till ready or 20minutes.
is that all to put in the bread? I feel like something is missing.

Do people no longer put yeast in bread to make it rise?
