Do you think local exchanges will stick with core, assuming s2x actually gets released (what a waste)?

Hypothetically: Are you guys prepared for South Africa following suit? What would you do with your BTC?

What do you mean? They banning 'raising of funds through ICO's' they not banning BTC/Crypto. Some sort of framework to guide future ICO's is a good thing IMO. There are 100's of scamcoins out there!

Oh right, my apologies.

I just skim-read the heading and thought they were closing exchanges just like China's doing this weekend.

But yeah, question stands. Will you guys cash out or keep your BTC floating?

I guess exchange banning means you can't acquire BTC, not necessarily outlawing the ownership of BTC. It would probably make more sense to then just keep it.

The only reason the Chinese banned exchanges, was because they were investing in high risk real estate, causing a bubble.

Yup. Also it was allowing large outflows of money. China also has exchange control like us. Cryptocurrency trading will come back to China, but exchanges etc. will be regulated.

Going up nicely again (perhaps on the news from Japan).
Shot myself in the foot this morning by trying to time the market and losing R3.5k in the process...Lekker skoolgeld betaal :D (note to self: hodl, hodl, hodl)

I also sold earlier, thinking it will go down more. I will just keep my lower buy order right there. This beast has a way to dip now and again unpredictably :) . Might just get that buy order filled at some later stage..

Fortunately only a small portion of holdings :D

Yet another version of the bubble chart, that more fairly shows the possibility that after a rapid rise, price can either crash or consolidate. Since it seems to be staying roughly in the $4k area, my bet is on consolidation, but who knows? :

I am worried that the Bitcoin space will soon run out of bad news. Then no more cheap BTC buy opportunities... *cry*

No bad (or good) news means the price will drop too. Only thing it will stay down after it drops because without the volatility and possible gains from the rebounds, people will start losing interest in cryptocurrency.
