USD price flying now.

I just got my Ledger S Nano tonight. Did a transfer both ways and a hard reset + recovery. Seems to work pretty ok. Now to hide it under my bed and HODL for a year or 3. :p

Luno almost at R200k wall...

Wall smashed. R202.2k and climbing. Guess my hunch on the previous page turned out right.

And smashing through it right back in reverse again. :crylaugh:

Lol yeah wtf! The USD price climbed about $800 or so last i saw. Weird SA exchange. :p

Its stuck on R200k flat now. I wonder if its not a wall of panic sellers who didn't wanna lose out when it dipped and said to themselves if it recovers to R200k then they'll pull out and play it safe. Who knows...

EDIT: aaand back up to R205k we go.

Some good live traders are having a blast. Some bad ones are in tears. BTC jumping a lot now after a very quiet week.

I bought my first altcoins today with my bitcoin. They now in the red ;(
Don't worry they will pick up. When it goes red, buy more.

I bought my first alts in June when everything was high, they all went down and only started recovering in November. I kept buying small bits as they went down.

So yesterday I wanted to trade some alt coins for BTC while the price was low. My transaction through Freewallet (who uses Changelly) never even deducted the coins from my wallet TO convert. They claim there is a significant delay in transactions on the BTC blockchain.

Can anyone confirm? Last I heard of delays was November/December, but according to me, this should be solved now because if BTC was so slow in transacting, no one would be able to make a trade knowing it would go through within a few minutes to an hour.

Finally climbing to R218k now.

"Bitcoin rises after report says early Facebook investor Peter Thiel is buying massive amounts" ... except he's been buying since 2012. Markets are funny things.

144500 unconfirmed transactions @ 28.66 transactions per second. That would take 5041 seconds to process (assuming no more transactions are added on). That's 1.4 hours (roughly)

I've been waiting (at this exact moment), 24 hours.

I highly doubt there is any "significant" delay in transactions, and thanks to your reply, I can confirm that my suspicion is correct

That tx/s figure is the submission rate. The network is only currently doing 6.9tx/s - https://blockchain.info/charts/transactions-per-second

Weird, because I did a transaction to convert ETH to BTC now through Shapeshift instead of Changelly/Freewallet, and within 15 minutes I had 2 out of 3 confirmations on incoming BTC to my wallet.

And it was just confirmed. Under an hour. So no. BTC Blockchain is NOT congested, it was freewallet/changelly that was unable to perform in this instance
