The Blue Blinking Light on my USB External drive!

I would prefer not to format it , what other options do I have ?

Plug it into a Linux box , see if I can recover as much of the 2TB of Data and then format?
I'm busy doing exactly that right now, using EaseUS Data Recovery...

Once I have moved my 1.8TB of series to another HDD, I will repair the 'damaged' HDD.

A strange thing, I went onto the shop floor quickly, came back and the blue light was solid, went to my computer and bot partitions are showing up now...

I can access one of the partitions..... the other causes my Pc to get confused and it keeps trying to access the partition.

Let me get a copy of EaseUS Data Recovery as MickeyD indicates and see what I can salvage from the drive....

Copy the data off that one partition before doing the recovery on the other one. It will save you PLENTY of time.

EaseUS Data Recovery cannot read the drive , been running all night, stopped responding....

My Computer can identify the two partitions and I can access the one partition, the other, leaves my PC hanging until I physically switch the drive off!

the moment of doing a NAAS BOTHA to this drive is rapidly approaching, I think when the store closes, I shall take the drive and place it on my forklift forks, raise them to a lofty height and then point the forks forward.....

Ignore previous rant! Deep Scanning now in progress.....

In all honesty, I cannot recall what the contents of the drive were, but remember getting error warnings on it a year back and making copies of those files all over my home network....

I don't get it. What scanning? Trying to repair file system the on faulty drive not good idea.
Get your data copied ASAP. Copy sector-by sector to a new drive or a file. Then you can start file recovery.

HDD has 2 partitions.
Can read 1. (Advised to copy that data to another HDD)
Cannot detect 2. (Advised to recover that data).

I have had this before... that drive still works to this day.
In my case the PC it was connected to was hit by lightning.

I ran a boot CD (I forget which one) and used a utility on there to fix the drive. Sorted! Took 1/2 an hour and no I didn't even have to open the thing.
