They must test again. The 1M was tail happy. The M2 is much better composed around a track. Surprised by the results

That's going to be hard though as BMW SA only provided *one* press car for all. Cars.co.za was the last guys before the car went back to Jozi.
Maybe Schalk Burger buys an M2 go along with his Alpine White 1M.
Carmag can ask for both one time...lol

I really dislike cars being summed up in 0 - 100 times
I used to be all about that, but I now prefer in gear acceleration comparisons for an idea of car performance on the road. The noise it makes, the intelligence of the gearbox if its an automatic, the weight of the steering wheel...i could go on.
I dont think you could pick any of those and have a rubbish car. They each will attract a certain type of driver and style, and thats ok.
The RS3 for me is probably the least track focused "hardcore" car out of the lot. Type R I think is a bit harsh and pushes the limits of FWD.
For a driver focused car, it would be close between the A45 and M2, with the M2 for me probably winning (I have driven all of these except the M2, so this is just based on what i have read and my experience of the 1M and m235).

Um. The A45 AMG has better numbers there. Faster 0-100 and better fuel economy.
Also, didn't know the Type R is over 200kw now. Thought they always were in the 150kw GTI range.

M2 all the way... Don't just look at numbers. When you drive and own the car you not taking a stop watch with you now and testing your 0-100s etc 
The a45 feels old school (well the pre face life I had) . Gearbox not mated perfectly with the engine. Rs3 has negative reviews all round and judging from my past experience with the prev gen which was at best a GT car I'd give it a miss

Which is why manufacturers will stretch 2nd gear to make it get to 100, and 3rd is a major let down. If you want the true indication of straight line performance, either look at the 1/4 mile or 1km benchmarks...

A Swiss tuner believes it has created the “ultimate” BMW M2 Coupé, largely thanks to the uprated M4 engine tucked under the bonnet.
Dähler Design & Technik GmbH says it has tuned the M4-sourced 3,0-litre inline six-cylinder S55 engine dropped into the M2 to deliver a stonking 397 kW and 730 N.m (as opposed to the 272 kW and 465 N.m in the standard M2 and the 317 kW and 550 N.m in the standard M4).
That’s enough for a claimed sprint to 100 km/h in less than four seconds, with a top speed of 320 km/h.
Of course, the upgrades extend to other parts of the baby M car, too. Dähler installed a performance coil-over suspension system and updated the braking system with hefty 400 mm discs. A stainless steel exhaust system is also part of the package.
Styling changes, however, are subtle. In fact, other than the modest front spoiler lip, alloys wheels and some decals, there’s little to set the Dähler M2 apart from the standard model (although, if you insist, the company says it will add a rear wing).
