I think both are difficult in different ways and to different degrees.

I will say that, the biggest change in my life has been my dietary habits. They have changed much more than my exercise habits.

I eat a completely different and far healthier diet, and it is the biggest reason I've lost a large amount of weight. I approach food completely differently. I won't say it is "hard", because I don't see it as a sacrifice. I actually don't think I could go back to how I was eating before. I mean, I slip up now and then, but to get back into old habits would feel... strange. And wrong.

My exercise habits have changed in that I take it a lot more seriously and did a lot more research about what exercises to do on what days. I try to be more scientific about it, instead of just doing a couple of exercises. And I push myself harder than I used to. But, it still isn't as big a change as my diet was.

Hi All
Did a HIIT session last night on the stationary bike. 30 seconds intense, 30 seconds slow paced. Did 4 rounds, that's all I could muster.
Anyway, 5 minutes after stepping off the bike my calf muscles started pulling, not sure if this is to be expected but it was extremely painful. The pulling came and went for 20 minutes.
I really want to continue with HIIT but I'm not sure how to avoid this.

Ideas?

You weren't perhaps dehydrated?

I get these cramps from time to time and I know it is because I am a bit dehydrated.

Had a total of 1 liter of water during my entire gym visit which was 2 hours.
Did weights before getting on the bike.

Make sure you are fully hydrated and the night before perhaps try a magnesium supplement and a sachet of salt to prevent cramps. Also while training if it persists try BCAA's for intra workout.

I can knock out 1 litre in about half an hour in the gym.

You should probably try drinking more.

So its my last few days out of gym. Been a lengthy month and a half break (which was much needed).

Starting Monday a fresh and can't wait to get back into the swings of things.

Going for biiiiig gains this year. Goal is 90kg with Bf 10%

My current stats: 1.74m 82kg Not 100% sure about bf but around 15%-18%

Not looking forward to the first few weeks soreness and stiffness. Going on a calorie deficient for the month of Feb to lose some belly fat and thereafter BULK for 6 months.

8kg weight gain within 10 months is possible, but with 10% bf you're being overly ambitious especially looking at your current bf. But otherwise good luck

That gains is definitely possible. I'll have to be over 90kg which means +- 95kg by end Aug which will be hard. So thats LOTS of EATING to be done. So in effective a mass gain of +-13kg (fat and muscle) to ensure I cut down to 90kg with the required BF. I know its quite big numbers that I'm looking at but I don't mind being about 87kg (Atleast close to 90kg).

I'll start my cutting phase from Sept - Dec. Which gives me 12-15 weeks in which I should reach that 10% bf. (That's with a strict diet).
I will be looking to decrease my bf in the next month or 2 to about 14% and keep it at 14% during my bulk phase till end of Aug.

You know rather look at over achieving that under-achieving.

Some years ago I read in of these threads that one of the MyBB members had a website relating to bodybuilding or weightlifting.

Is this info still relevant and who is the member and the url please?
