The Bodybuilders Thread: Circuit II

Cottage Cheese is the bomb. Prefer chunky myself.

Mix it with a few scoops of your regular whey, some flaxseed powder and a little bit of milk/water. Mix Mix Mix. It will all combine soon. Makes for a very nice high protein high fiber treat. Less than 400 calories and it is very filling.

Checkers regularly have either Parmalat or Crystal Valley on special for less than R20/250g.

If you want a bit more fat and calories you can take the creamed/full fat versions.

That's great advise. Thanks guys. I want to add more fats, so will work the cream cheese with Provitas into a post workout snack. I generally don't eat carbs at night so that will have to do. Tonight I may actually work it in with a baked chicken breast and spinach.

how much money do you guys spend monthly on Supps.

(guys that dont compete on stage or in any sort of power lifting/ sport etc. so those that gym recreational or for lifestyle)

R250 at most, I like to stay skinny strong it suits my fitness goals

I spend about R600 a month on supps. Whey because it suits my lifestyle - easy way to hit protein goal. And BCAA'S for fasted training

105 kg

Was honestly expecting it to be more difficult. I guess from 100 - > 105 isn't that big a jump tbh.

Will try 110 in a week or so.

Yeah sorry about my stomach showing, my shirt pulls up when I retract my shoulder blades lol and this time it pulled up a bit much but when you're going for a PR that's the last thing you think about.

What's the difference between fasted training with or without BCAAs?

****ing hell you're gaining strength quickly.

Nicely done.

But I have to ask - do you have some chemical help?

Nice 1 Swag. You doing 5x5 these days? My regime has me following that up with supersetted dips and then dynamic pushups :D

I swallow a vial of test on my way to gym as a preworkout.
Sometimes I'll stick it in my rectum for faster absorption.

Lol, but on the off chance that someone actually takes that seriously - I am kidding :crylaugh:

In all seriousness though, I am not taking any gear. I'm not against it and would love to take someday, but as of right now, I don't know anybody who sells it and even then I don't know if I can afford it - I don't actually speak to anyone at the gym so I don't have gym buddy contacts.

I think I have two things going for me atm tho;

*Actually working and not being a broke student who can't afford whey protein lmao
*My wrist is much better. I don't know if anyone remembers but I tore some **** in my wrist 2 years ago and it's actually why I originally stopped lifting

Nice, I had to google dynamic pushups lol. It looks really effective, looks like it might be heavy of the wrists though, but if you're doing it at the end of your workout I could see that being great to exhaust your muscles even further and just get that 'yirre I worked out hard today' feeling. Dips are an amazing exercise as well.

I do 5x5 for certain bodyparts/exercises and 12x3 for others.

Big compound movements like BP or Squats I like to do 5ish reps, if I get 4, that's fine, if I get 6 that's even better lol. For biceps or shoulders I prefer lighter loads, but working more towards fatigue on the muscle.

I feel it gives me a good amount of energy. And recommended by leangains, in order to not inhibit muscle growth, training on an empty stomach and all. Other have also felt they look more defined while on BCAA's than not

okay folks can I get an honest opinion on fat burners, which ones actually work and are the results worth it, my girlfriend has been wanting to use this stuff for a while but she's already slim

If she is slim already, what is the aim of fat burners? Does she want abs and a defined look?

she wants abs and more definition, I did set her a few milestones to keep her at bay like squatting her own bodyweight, maxing out her deadlift, 8 sprints per workout....I could go on she keeps beating my challenges  :crylaugh:

Well, if her training is so on point, why would she want to go put **** in her body to help her lose the weight? Rather just do a healthy steady cut and enjoy the process the natural way. She can incorporate things which help her lose weight (like green tea) into her diet. This is assuming weight loss is the goal though.

If your g/f has only recently started strength training, her abs may not yet be big enough either. So, she will have to decide if she wants to bulk a bit and grow her muscles, or does she want to do a cut?

There are no shortcuts to abs and a strong defined look. Those woman with athletic bodies train like beasts and usually lift heavy. It also won't happen in a short period.
