Their import stuff is usually permanently out of stock. You can mail them and ask if you want, but I ordered mine last year when it said that anyway, got it about 5-7 weeks later.

@Tinuva - googled the brand, found a local representative... R59 each :p

(you probably hate me now, or yourself) :D

Wow nice, where?

It probably new, because I also searched that brand last year a lot and couldn't find another local supplier. If you get it at that price, thats great for you.

Started the get back in shape workout (from my mens health big book of exercises).I decided to do this since well I am not in shape. I will do squats, pushups, hip raises on a swiss ball, dumbbell rows, reverse crunch and the prone cobra(all sets of 3 of 12 each).I will make my cardio taking my dogs for a walk and golf every sunday. What you guys think? :D Hmmm might also take a look at cash converters soon for more weights and maybe a small boxing bag .

Hey bud- well done and congratz on your decision to get back in to shape.

Bud if I were you I would go to a local gym. Costs are not that bad any more but at least you have a place to be and a sense of responsibility and guilt when paying for something which you wont use. That way you will have all the weights and cardio equipment as you need it- On your cardio days go in a bit earlier in the morning and do cardio again the afternoon with your dog, which will lead to a double spike in your metabolism, which will lead to more extreme fatburning. Try to do your weights in the morning and cardio in the afternoon.

Mark my words- Home gyms are for dedicated gym junkies who already reached most off their goals. It takes a lot of discipline and dedication to start from scratch at home. Very few will start that and follow through. You will have expensive clothing hangers all over your place.
Good luck bud

Well done, best choice one can ever make to get into shape.

If you want another program, not saying you do, I loved this one, its only 2 weeks but it hit me pretty hard when I did it after the December holiday in Jan this year:

Though I guess its more for someone that do exercise a lot and just a few months.

Personally, I wish I had the space for a home gym. I do get my gym membership via discovery, which is free, and discovery get paid for by my company, so again that costs me nothing. But it really gets to me having to wait for the squat rack every time I go the the Gym. I love my squats, yet I have to watch people doing barbell curls with 2.5kg weights on each side, and girls doing all strangest stretching exercises in there, yet its the only place in the Gym I can safely do Squats :(

They have a workout in the book for a crowded gym, will post it here when I am on the comp later. All I have are dumbbells, stationary bike, pull up bar and a kettlebell.

Soooooo what did you gym rats have for supper last night?

For me and the wife.

Ingredients:

4 Chicken Breasts
1 can tuna (water)
Curry Paste (2 tablespoons)
1 teaspoon Garlic
1 Cup Greek yogurt
Peas about 2 cups
2x Gem squash
8 tortilla wraps

Fried chicken in no oil until half cooked.
Added curry Paste and garlic , covered and allowed to cool down in that mix.
30min later added peas and greek yogurt and started to finish the fry.
At the end added 1 can Tuna.
Boiled Gem Squash
Grilled the tortilla wraps

And added chicken + tuna to wraps.
Gem Squash as side dish.

And had left over's for lunch today.

Maybe not the most "bodybuilder" friendly meal but it was very nice.........

Recipe swap outs? Pansies!! :)

I've started "studying" healthy foods :p Tired of the same boring crap.

My favourite is still Sat & Sun protein pancakes... and for this weekend, I'm making my own almond butter.. the crap is expensive in store. R80 for a small bottle.

Anyone here suffer from "restless legs and body" when they try to sleep?
When I was off for 3 weeks due to a wrist injury and stopped gymming I slept well.
When I started gymming again it re-appeared.
It's especially bad on off days.
Last night was terrible, I can still feel it this morning.

Sounds like I need to first increase my iron intake and then consult a doc, the meds seem to have a couple side effects :( though

Whoa! That is one hectic program. I will be getting stuck in. But i'm going to cut down the number of reps, 20 on some of the exercises.. Our should I use lighter weights??

I'm also trying to get back into weight training, it's been about two weeks and I am loving it.

RLS (Restless Legs Syndome) has got nothing to do with gym. I get that every now and then, ever since I can remember. I've done some reading, and it seems that there's also not much that can be done about it.

1st week of that program is light weights, which is why the reps are high. So consider going much lower on weights so you can finish the reps.
2nd week is the heavy week, which is when you go your normal weights that you used to or higher.

Trust me, it worked wonders, it really shocks your body back into routine. Don't do the program for more than 2 weeks, I couldn't keep up and I was actually only 2-3 weeks not at gym when I did it.

So, lighter weights, don't cut the reps in week 1.
