Reading this makes me almost certain I have a weak chest.

My utmost best on the bench is 90kg, and that's on a good day.

DL is 160kg
Squat is 120kg

And I'm 83kgs; 182cm

:(

Ok so the weight loss thread isn't helping much with this but apparently I need to do some weight training...
I'll be doing this at home but have no idea where to start as far as equipment is concerned. So what is a good kit for a lady to start out with? Cheapest possible :o

A bit hard to give advice if we dont know your current stats, situation and location. If i wanted to drop fat fast and maintain muscle mass I would go off and do a kettlebell / muay thai / kick boxing class (pick one) 3 times a week. That combined with clean eating and the fat will melt off.

Join the sleekgeek group on FB. Lots of advice on there. I got flamed for mentioning that in the Weight Loss thread. Use it / don't use it!

It's all a work in progress bud. I've been trying to get my bench up for years. Changed my approach, I train chest every other week and focus on the supporting muscles. Your triceps, lats, delts and traps. I'm hoping to hit 130kg bench by next year March.

These are all good stats, considering your weight!

This is the problem. I tend to tell me friends 'Yes, I'll be there at 7, I'll bring beer' 15 minutes before I planned to go to gym :o

A few weeks ago I literally walked out of the gym bathroom (was busy changing into gym clothes) because a friend called for drinks. I like drinks

Me too, chest also weak although improving since I started exercising arms.
I could go heavier on chest but I start to lift (arch) my back and just dont see the point.
Squats only at 80kg

Deadlifts max used to be 180-182kg x2 reps but now sit at around 150kg.

Currently at 76kg in weight

I was quite shocked this morning - I track what I do on fitocracy - one of my main drives is being able to download my workouts all the way back in CSV.

Anyways, since joining the site, think in October 2011, I've only ever pressed a 40kg dumbbell - its depressing how long I've been focussing on weight loss, back around that time I was doing over 50kg.

Are those 1 rep max?

The run is excellent! Well done.

Ended up doing just pull ups today.

Workout was done in 30 mins.

8x3 overhand
8x3 close grip underhand
8x3 w/e the other variation is called

Killed me tbh

Also did back yesterday.

10x5reps overhand wide grip pullups.
7 sets of 4-6 deadlifts.
5 sets behind the neck pulldowns

Feeling it today and will have to rest.

The other variation is neutral grip. IIRC they said on T-nation that neutral grip is the way to go if you don't wanna develop (shoulder?) issues though I suppose variation is good.

Get the Verimark Maxxus pullup bar from Verimark or Game for R199, then you dont even have to trek to gym to get a workout. I got one and it's awesome and has all 3 grips. Supports up to a max of 120kg.
