Optimum Nutrition 100% gold

Mr Feesh……. And all other bbuilders …
This is not meant directly to you Mr Feesh and I am not attacking or confronting you at all, rather educating you for that matter, but I’m trying to give an eye opener to the rest of our BB community as well as this issue has been bugging me for a couple of months now, and I can’t stand being ripped off or see people getting ripped off and if you are living healthy or using supplements you are being ripped off or targeted as an easy “They will pay for their success and results we can charge them what we want” market. Why is it so expensive to eat healthy foods and take decent supplements in SA when these supplements costs next to nothing?
And when we walk in to a supplement store or a Dischem for that matter, and you are there to buy Milk Thistle (just an example), you’ll see two or three brands on the shelf. One will be R40, another R80 and the third one will be R140.
What will you take? Most guys (especially bbuilders) will take the R140 one because it must be a better product which will render better results right? But when you read / study the ingredients and ratios you’ll see it is the exact same product / main ingredient and possibly the same strength.
NBS and I had the same discussion the other day. We are being ripped off as BBuilders and heartening health addicts. Supplement companies are abusing our need for the healthiest and the best. In this case Milk thistle is Milk thistle (the ingredient is Silybum / Sylimarin) and any Milk thistle product will ALWAYS have that EXACT ingredient, maybe 2 or 3 extra ingredients, but most of the times it’s eye blinders confusing you or making the product “look” better- I mean you are there to buy Milk Thistle, not Milk thistle with an added (small almost non existing) amount of vit B12 (just an example), which you will acquire any way through your diet but it makes the product look more complete or advanced. Immediately the good sirens goes on when you read the labels cause you heard B12 is good for you, but if you’ll check the amount of B12 added to the product you’ll see it is equal to the amount of B12 you’ll digest / absorb when eating half a boiled egg. (B12 rich foods are fish, beef, liver, eggs, cheese, lamb etc.) I hope you catch my drift here as I am moving a bit off topic but I have a point to make.
In that same way and in this case whey protein is whey protein. The only difference is the TYPE of protein you use. Main types are Concentrate, Isolate and Casein.
Not sure what size of ON 100%whey you bought, but Optimum Nutrition is made and owned by Glanbia USA.
http://www.glanbiausa.com/ and http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=newsarchive&sid=a85ri1rfPn68&refer=uk
I import Glanbia Isolate directly from the USA. Ask NBS http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/member.php/88169-NBS or XrapidX http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/member.php/25919-xrapidx about the quality of the products I supply to them. (Sorry guys if I put you on the spot) And this is not a marketing scheme. I sell all my products for just over cost, as it is a passion for me and not an income… (yet), and a side-line with no overheads as I am using my main business’s resources (which is imports and exports) to repack and distribute to friends, as most of the clients become friends as we share tips and BB secrets.
Both NBS and XrapidX from this forum ordered my Isolate and if you ever used ON and you know your whey you’ll see it is EXACTLY the same product.
You don’t even need to use a fork for mixing when you use glass and water only; just swirl and you are set :)
D3X also ordered some Isolate and you’ll get his feedback by Tuesday / Wednesday if he wishes to.

Mr Feesh- There are only two differences between my Glanbia Isolate and your Glanbia ON 100% gold. You paid a 400% mark-up on your product with a fancy container and a R1 scoop, and you have a blend of Isolate (90% pure) and concentrate (80% pure) which will render you a final product of about 24 grams of pure protein per 30 grams. If you don’t believe me read the info on your container’s label.
My Protein is Isolate ONLY which will render 27 grams of pure protein out of a 30 gram serving. With only a small amount of quality non-fattening flavouring added. No colorants, preservatives or fillers added. And it comes in a decent thick plastic tube which are heat sealed on both sides. I’ll lek your bal if you can open it with your hands. (You can use Google Translate for that piece of info)

Fillers are non-nutrient substances like rice flour, potato flour or something similar with no particular / unique taste that will compromise the taste of the product (it is usually simple / empty carbs which will only add to your weight with long term use, not lean mass but fat %) forcing you to train harder and (most) supplement companies add these to their products to boost and enhance qty / volumes in sales. They will pack 25 kg of whey powder in 40 - 50 x 1kg containers, and they’ll add a 400% mark-up. Not talking about ON here, but local companies like 3vox (read between the lines I don’t want to get sewed here) which will make you fart like a racing horse.
My product is rendering 90g of pure protein for every 100g you consume AFTER flavouring (94.5% pure when imported and got the certificate of analysis to proof it). 3vox is giving you 72g for every 100g you consume. See where I’m going?
That’s facts.

To sum it all up: Mr Feesh, you paid at least R450 for 941 grams of protein blend which renders 24 grams of protein for every 30 gram scoop you consume.
My product is purer (because it is not a blend of 2 protein types) but from the exact same company that manufactured your protein and you’ll get 27 grams of pure protein from a 30 gram serving for R185 per 1000 grams / per kg from me.
You do the maths. And if anyone doubts my proclamations I dare you to send my product for analysis.
Sorry it has been a long post but the passion is biiiiig. The more I write the more disgusted I get with local suppliers and local sup companies ripping us off for our hard earned money.
My supplement side-line didn’t stop at whey protein- it started there. I’m now importing and supplying most of the “Need to have” basic raw supplements without the added bull****. It is still small as I have been doing it for a couple of months only and only on the side, but it keeps expanding and growing from day to day as word of mouth is going around. And everyone that orders from me keeps coming back for the same products.

As I said before- I’m not making a big profit or a living out of this and this is not intended to be advertising or spamming in any way. If you feel that this post is marketing or spam in any way post your opinion or PM me and I’ll edit or change to please you and I’ll reply and apologize on this thread to you but I won’t change the truth in any way.
I’m giving you top prices without compromising quality. It is more of a hobby and a passion. You can PM me for a price list and see for yourself. Don’t get deceived or robbed any further….

Look brother. I'm a high gainer and don't settle for second best. I do something good and decent or I'd rather leave it. Here is how it started: http://www.anabolicsteroids.co.za/forum/9-supplements/68686-which-brand-makes-the-best-whey-protein
It is a bit of a long read with allot of off topic posts, but you'll get the picture. And those guys are hardcore gymers. No 2nd best will do for them. Obviously mine is the Ondier posts.
And this is where it continues: http://www.anabolicsteroids.co.za/forum/9-supplements/74349-bssa-supplements-a-whey-isolate-orders
There are more forums and links I can post. But this all happened in three to four months.

Cheers brothers- have a good week

No Problem

I have bought all together probably 8kg Protein, L-Glutamine, Creatine and Dextrose, very happy with all the products.

Besides the products, Ondier has been very helpful and helped me with some valuable information with my training and supplement use, even if I don’t buy anything he is more that helpful and he goes out of his way to help, after sales support goes a very long way in my books (if you can call it that :p)

I have been to a few pharmacies in my life, the reps always try to force you into buying things you don’t need, they give you poor advice and could not care less what happens with you or your training in the future, where with Ondier he has been supportive throughout my whole training cycle and whenever it’s my training, supplements or diet he always help’s

Also never had a problem with any shipments, always very neatly packed

Keep up the good work!!
:)

Yeh... I like the 1KG bags, so much easier to work with.

I've picked up 6kg in the last six weeks... probably shouldn't be bulking as I'm already classified as overweight :p But I'm not interested in being skinny, prefer strength - going to concentrate on building until the end of the year, and will then looking at dropping some of the fat.

That’s exactly what im doing

Also overweight but bulking, GF also prefers big and strong to small and skinny…..

But when Desember comes I’m going to start cutting, 2 months no weight training, or perhaps once a week for maintenance, but besides that only cardio

I was going to do December, but then realized its December... holiday, parties, etc... there's no chance I'm going to loose weight... so January it is.

I'm pushing as hard as possible to get my bench up by end of December, its my weakest point, and having constant issues with tennis elbow isn't helping... but the constant eating if helping...3300 odd calories a day, I could probably do with another 700 - but don't want to push my weight to high.

Yeah, December is kuier time, but I decided to keep in on the low, Each year I lie to myself and say “ja no, definitely January is training and cardio….” and it always turns into April….. :p
So I rather decided to let me not lose any steam and push it through, im not going away so at the end of the day it will be easier for me, and I will be saving some money on the kuier plekke and won’t have that much of a “Desember Belly” to work off (still just my old one) :D

I try to keep my Calories low and protein high as possible, but it’s not always that easy…Haha, but on the bright side I have picked up 3kg the last 6 weeks and lost +- 4% body fat, so its working

quick question, how are you guys measuring body fat %?

If you google bodyfat calculator a few pops up

I’m Afrikaans and really don’t know if its correct if I say my GF studied “dietition”, but ja, she got this little black device, think it’s called a “calliper”
In any case, she takes this thing and measure a whole lot of spaces on your body, then she has this HUGE formula that she uses the measures from the little black thingy

According to her this is the most effective way of measuring you BF %

Yeh - it came with instructions - but their are different methods, some claiming more accuracy than others - you can look them up on the net. Its a cheap plastic thing, think it was around R70.

Dischem sells a USN caliper. About R25 - R30.
And I use this site to calculate my body fat: http://bodyforlife.com/library/tools

Just click on body fat calculator. And ignore body mass index, cause even Jay Cutler is extreme obese when using that formula.
