I'm also thinking of getting some pre-workout again.
how many servings in your jack3d?

Hey guys so a little deviation over the current conversation but I've been on a diet for 1 month. lost about 1kg per week. Now as usual my lifts have plummeted at least by 1 plate. I wasn't taking any creatine nor was I taking any pre-workout. My rationale being that I can carefully track my weight. However in hindsight this is a bad idea, I've lost progress on my lifts and feel discouraged because of it. So this weekend I went and got some Jack3d. Yesterday morning I ate 3 boiled eggs and bacon. Downed some jack3d and I ended up having a 1.5hr long gym session. Needless to say I feel so much better now.

I can see how losing progress makes you not wanting to go, I have my own reasons for skipping a lot recently.

That said, eating more always helps getting the progress back on track :P If you lost weight, its because you ate below maintenance, and you need to eat more than maintenance to keep the progress going.

Yeah you cant build muscle at a deficit unless if you are a beginner. However that being said I was aware that I was going to lose strength, however 1 plate worth of strength is quite abit to lose

Sunday afternoon, gear myself for a hectic bench session:

3 sets x 6 reps flat bench with most weight I can handle, all to failure.
3 sets x 8 reps incline bench to failure.
4 sets x rep to failure - flat bench using cable crossover machine for flyes.
3 sets x rep to failure - standing lower cable crossover, these really burned.
4 sets x rep to failure - standing top cable crossover's, by now I was really stuffed.

Had me protein shake with milk like usual, come 9pm my vision starts to blur and I feel exhausted so go to bed.
Wake up around 2am to throw up, farken dry heaves.
Lay in bed going from hot to cold, hot to cold, think my immune system took a battering?
My chest hurts like a mutha today....still very much out of it.

What's worse is I want to make the most of the workout by eating every 2hrs but cant at the moment.

45 servings for R350, not bad imo. If you take pre-workout on a 1month on 1 month off basis it can last you for 4months, even longer if you only workout 3 times a week.

Isnt this the one they wanted to ban ?

Yes, they had to remove the ingredient DMAA (and they did) so now it is legal again.

Could be but it sounds like an un-related illness that you are suffering from. Don't take a forumites advice on illness though, go see a doctor if it persists

Since I'm 37, single, not married, it's motivation enough to keep in good shape. No boep for me :p. and even when I do settle down one day I don't ever see myself 'letting go' as most married people seem to do!

It's not so much letting go as settling down. Settling down, getting calmer, with kids you do not run around town any more, your time is severely restricted if you want to spend some quality time with the family, your priorities shift, etc.

You do not eat more, etc, you are just not as active as you were when you were alone.

@myworld, perhaps different kinds of bodyweight stuff around the house is the way to go, so pushups, pullups, etc... every time u pass the pull up bar do 5 reps for example. Will have a good influence on your kids to see dad being active around the house.

Get a kettlebell, 15minutes a day of the right routine is enough to stoke the metabolism...

edit: Yeah, I can't see myself making it to the gym once i have kids. You have my empathy!

Take the kids with once they around 4-5 years. I see some dads doing it at VA Tygervalley. Pretty cool to see the dads teaching their kids to get used to going to the gym from a young age. Wish I had that opportunity as a kid.

Plan on doing this with my kid.

If you're old enough to walk, you're old enough to lift weights.

My 2 and half year old sometimes comes into garage when I gym, then picks up all the 2.5kg plates and racks them BUT he makes this grunting noise, thinking he might be imitating me lol but sometimes let rip with a fart or two.

I've heard that if you start serious lifting at too young an age, you might stunt your growth ;)
For boys? I don't think so, though as soon as they go through puberty, when their natural test is at their highest, is when they can make the most improvements without needing any supplements, just pure muscle growth.

So before puberty, don't go too heavy, but work on form+technique and learning how to do the exercises the safe way. By the time puberty then hits, go all out for size+strength = pure win. I wish I did this.

On the pre-workout front, I got some evox 3DT from dischem (on special with creatine HCL for R200).

Does anyone take casein protein and especially turn it into a dessert?
Any one know something of nutritech casein?
I crave chocolates like a mad man in the evenings and was thinking of trying to substitute chocolates with something more healty

Me... Cassein + water + fat free milk - mix till thick consistency, pop in fridge for hour... comes out like moose.
