That bench might be dangerous to do heavy bench press on?
Whats the max weight it can take besides 110kg for user.

Not sure, but it's solidly built.

I guess it's just a disclaimer that some giant 190kg fat guy doesn't try and use it.

This.
I'm confused.

If it can't handle a 111kg man, how can it handle a 70kg man benching 41kg?

I'd say the average gym goer can easily bench 60kg and probably weighs more than 70kg themselves, that's not even counting heavy work.

Utility bench so its more for light dumbbell work, arm curls, flies etc.
I would not trust it for heavy barbell work.

If that bench give's way you'll be hurting.

I agree with this - it was the cheapest and I just wanted something to get me started. I do believe it'll get me to week 12, but after that a proper bench and rack will be required.

I was listening to these 2 guys talking in the office about Squats, they are both squatting 90kg at the moment, hefty amount as I'm on 75kg at the moment and struggle to reach 6 reps.

So was impressed with their efforts BUT then heard it was on Smith Machine and not free standing.

I remember from days when I was a gym member, Smith Machine squats where far easier than free standing, what you guys think?

Mehdi says in his report:

All these exercises you must do with free weights, using an Olympic Barbell. This means you don't use machines or the smith. Here's why: barbells force you to balance the weight yourself and allow for natural movements. On the other hand machines/smith balance the weight for you (which means less muscle and strength gains) and force you into fixed, unnatural movement patterns that can cause knee, lower back and shoulder pain.

Uh no, way too expensive. This other one is less than half of that price, R4350 vs R10995, AND where that one is in JHB and needs to be shipped, another expensive cost, the one I am looking at is in Milnerton, and I can go pick it up myself. The one I am looking at, also is rated for weights up to 600lbs which is roughly 270KG, FAR above that wat my 1rep max ever was, which I believe I ended at 120KG on squats. Other than the paint falling off, everyone rates it a very good rack for the price, even on bodybuilding.com.

So this morning I did chest/triceps

Did Cardio at 7pm and as I leave I see an old friend who convinced me to train chest again lol.

So I essentially did 3 days work in one day.

Any detriment to that? I feel ****ing famished lmao

Well, you're on a cut right, so it seems a bit silly to do so much, especially if it's going to make you super hungry? Maybe just your 3rd session was overkill :)

Second workout was another success :D Can feel a whole bunch down the sides of my back, its such a good feeling knowing you've worked out muscles that havent had much work before

Very nice! Now you just need to make it a habit to work out = win!

It's already a habit - I have been going to gym every work day during lunch since December, but now I have a good program and proper goals. So what do I win? :D

:( I'm not sure it classifies as a cut anymore.

Just stick with it man.

Been on my cut since 1st Jan (yea yea...one of those new year resolutionist types) and been consuming a constant 2050 calories a day. Results so far have been great. Will share the progress pics in April when my 3 month program is done.

It honestly becomes a habit to eat the right food and the right amount. And hell...the results should be motivation enough!

So any thoughts on Nutritech 100% whey.

I have been buying Optimum Nutrition for a while. But each time i go an buy some more the price goes up higher and higher. The price is getting ridiulous now.

Been using Nutritech for months. It's the best whey on the market at the best price if I recall correctly. Also locally manufactured which is even better!

Good morning Ecco

There is a worldwide shortage on Glanbia whey, which is the whey that Optimum uses. We used to sell it too but Glanbia phoned us and told us that they are very sorry to inform me that they are not going to be able to supply us with the raw product any more because of the shortage. The price will rise each month of the finished product as you know it in Dischem.

The price of Whey is going to continue climbing as the world wide shortage was announced I think in 2009 all ready.

Cheers cheers
