I was thinking about that, but its a mission since I'm signed up at the gym close to work, not close to home. If the risk doing it today is too much though, then it'll have to be Saturday

One day in the scope of things doesn't really matter. It's all about the bigger picture. Usually I just move my days around to make sure I get all 3 my workouts done within a 7 day period. Remember that rest is probably the most important thing, especially when you do weight lifting programs like SL/SS. I say don't stress about it too much, take one day off and hit the gym again next week. No worries.

Nah... thought about it, and occasionally compare myself to meet results , but I don't think I have the dedication to train for competition. For me its about stress relieve. (I'm assuming you're talking about powerlifting, not bodybuilding)

Since seriously hurting my back last year this time my lifts have been less than stellar, in fact, I was strongest in December 2011, never gotten back to that level. I'm hoping to fix that this year by dropping my weight considerably, and building clean.

Ja, was thinking powerlifting, when you stated you want to cut, I thought you wanted to drop weight to enter a certain weight class. :p

Nah- I've noticed there aren't many heavy guys competing, so would probably place better weighing more :p There are some strong guys in the 90-100kg range.

Jeez, his GF is a beast w.r.t. body weight strength! And you would not be able to tell if you saw her outside of the gym :p

She's an ex-Marine. And smoking hot.

Holy crap, that core strength is insane. Starting to find more appeal into this type of training and others with more compound movements like atlas stone and other exercises I see in some of Elliot Hulse's videos.

So here is the bar I was talking about. Anybody have an idea of what they weigh?

That's a standard non-olympic bar with collars on to take Olympic weights. Love to see what it does with 250kg+ on it. :p

Oh heck, any idea what the standard barbell weight limit is? The type you get at Game or Makro without the collars.

How do we know if we actually worked the muscle effectively to build it, should we be sore (doms) the next day?

After about 95% of my workouts I'm can usually feel I worked the effected muscle the following day , with legs after squats I'm usually still feeling it after 3 days.
Chest yesterday , I'm feeling it today if I pull my elbows back past my shoulders so does that mean I tore muscle fibres causing it to grow?

How far have you pushed yourself? Did you get proper nutrition afterwards? Muscle soreness isn't always a good indicator of if you worked your muscle effectively or not, if you get proper supplementation, rest and nutrition you will be ready to go exercise the same muscle group after a day. But that all depends, recovery times differ, with a lot of contributive factors. I always said train hard, eat properly, get plenty of rest and provide your body with proper supplementation and you are good. Unless you are doing something horribly wrong, you will grow.
