I tried out VA Tygervalley tonight. Damn confusing wandering in to a new gym and not knowing where everything is. Seemed like too many machines and not enough free weights space as usual.

Such a large gym and only 2 squat racks and 2 bench press racks? I had to opt for dumbbell presses instead.

I need to buy some more supplements:

Buying from Rage nutrition as they have special on whey 3,2kg for R619
Currently take creatine from USN but have never really felt any benefit from it or other brands for that matter.

I usually take coffee before I workout but thinking of taking something more suited?

What other sups should I be looking at taking besides creatine and whey?

Try 10-15g of BCAA's and caffeine, seems to work for me. BSSA or you can use the evox amino energy, been really happy with the evox product.

nutritech amino boost 2.0 R289 for 540g

NUTRITECH AMINO BOOST 2.0 is an ELITE post-workout designed to fuel and protect lean muscle during intense workouts, assist protein synthesis and boost recovery. Loaded with Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs) and other essential amino acids, NUTRITECH AMINO BOOST 2.0 is optimised for support and recovery. The muscle building effects of protein are primarily attributed to BCAAs which have anabolic and anti-catabolic properties. Supplementing BCAAs before training has been shown to effectively suppress muscle tissue breakdown, damage and soreness after training.

Good price, I paid R199 for the amino energy and it includes caffeine, maybe just buy the nutritech and caffeine tabs. But the cheapest is BSSA and caffeine tabs.

but, NUTRITECH AMINO BOOST 2.0 is an ELITE post-workout designed to fuel and protect lean muscle during intense workouts

Are they saying it is a post-workout that works during the workout, probably a typo or am I missing something.

I am a member at the TV VA, and I have to agree...It gets a bit cramped at times in the free weights area.

Have you tried any pre-workout supplements before? If not, I think you should consider it.

It serves as a good "pick-me-up" after a days work for me. Also, it gives me that little exstra boost to train with more intensity :)

Its especially effective towards the end of the week for me, by Thursday afternoon I really need the extra energy!:D

Just be careful with things like Dimethylhexanamine, can crash rather bad afterwards and may experience nausea.

Been de-loading this week, -15% defecit on my weights.

So far so good, feel really rested so far, no sore muscles at all. :)

Will ramp it up to -5% next week, and back to my starting point after that.

What also great, is that I can also focus on my form while in de-load mode.

Heh, they always used to have 2 squat racks, then downgraded to 1 squat rack. Many complaints followed. They went back to 2 squat racks.

But yeah I am very disappointed with most VAs nowadays. Really trying to budged now to start my own stuff at home. Mostly due to me hate waiting for equipment and wanting to things on my own time.

Hi All

A quick question for you guys..
Peanuts, good idea or bad idea when you're on a low carb diet?
I've been cutting out carbs recently with some good results - Just not too sure about this particular snack.

That's not good then
Does this apply to all nuts?

If you're on LCHF, STOP COUNTING CALORIES! Just eat, your body will know how much it needs... That's the whole point of the diet, you lose weight without cravings and conversely you'll naturally eat more if you're building muscle.

Nuts are fine for LCHF...
