Decided to start with Evox Creatine HCL because with it there is no loading period. After I finish this I will switch to mono as then I dont have to do the loading up.

To load up with mono, take 5 times a day for 5 days.

Once again, research is proving that less creatine is needed to deliver results. The research cited above also suggests that creatine loading may be nothing more than a waste. Should you load? In most cases, probably not. If you’re an elite athlete, a professional bodybuilder or competitive powerlifter, you may want to consider loading, just in case. For the rest of us, 5g is all it takes.

Thanks for that StrontiumDog.

I'm sticking to mono then.

Bought whey protein this afternoon and I have this habit to ask every consultant in the supplement stores what their feelings are with regards to creatine and BCAA or L-Glutamine and other basic supplements. The guy today told me convincingly that I should use HCL because mono promotes water retention and I will never lose that last layer of fat around my belly while using mono. Sounded a bit dodgy so was going to ask here later. But now I don't need to.

Where were you 7 hours ago

It has been said many times in this thread that loading is unnecessary :p

There's a saying, "Don't ask your barber if you need a haircut" :p Problem is those guys generally work on commission so there is probably a vested interest in selling you product A over product B.

But yeah, what that consultant said sounds dodge :)

It is freezing in Cape Town today and I was gonna go to gym but now totally not motivated :( Have not been the whole week. Have only managed pullups and pushups every 2nd day or so.

I'm a noob so still learning. Also the reason I ask as many people as I can and also read up here and elsewhere. That way I can make an informed decision when I do buy or try something new.

I also find it amusing how the opinions differ so greatly from store to store. I found that the guy at Dischem tried his best to help me make objective decisions and wasn't pushing any specific brand or supplement.

Dischem always push Biogen. If you're on the fence, they are told to suggest it.

Yeah because Biogen is Dischem's in house brand.

I have popped into Xtreme Nutrition (Canal Walk) a few times. The guys there seemed very informed and not driven to push any particular product due to a hidden agenda.

My digestive system seems to slow down considerably if I do not eat something like all bran flakes/oats/futurelife once a day.
I see futurelife now has this "high protein" version, which according to their site has 30g protien per 100g and it is:

SmartProtein3D® blend (26%) – Whey Protein isolate (Milk), NON-GMO Soya Protein isolate (Soy), Calcium Caseinate (Milk)

Is it worth paying extra for this?

over the past year i have lost probably more than 50% of my strength and can feel i lost size as well from lacking time and motivation, i find that when i get to gym lately i half arse it, need to get myself going again and eating properly.

any suggestions for a simple plan to get me motivated again? I am guessing that suggestions would be 5 x 5 but surprise me :p also any suggestions on high protein bulking foods / shakes / smoothies that one could make cheaply?
