Makes sense actually, for some reason i thought that if you start with Cardio, you get like your heart pumping and ready for gym :wtf: [shot in the dark?]

I guess you can warm up with some light cardio.

We start with treadmill for 20 minutes. Speed set to about 5 or 6 and angle to about 5. It is nice to warm up and get the blood flowing before doing weights etc I think.

Yeah that's about more or less what i do, either treadmill or some cycling or the elyptic machine for about 20 mins. But is it necessary to do this every day that you go to the gym?

I am not sure. But for me, I cannot imagine starting without warming up first a little on the treadmill.

Oooo kettlebell training can be strength and cardio at the same time :)

Never tried the Kettlebell yet, seen it lying around at the gym.

Must admit, i had to Google to see what it was, and it seems there is quite a few techniques with the kettlebell.

What happens if i do Abs every day? I thought that, that would be a quick way of getting rid of the Gut? But now, as you saying you shouldn't, does that apply to Abs as well?

No such thing as "spot reduction" your body won't burn fat where you train it, it takes fat where it see's fit, and your gut acts like a "storage" or "back up" for excess energy supplies, so its going to start taking there last in most cases, you'd be better off focusing on improving your compound lifts like dead lift , squat etc (you'd be surprised how much you core gets worked when you start lifting heavy **** with your whole body) top it off with a proper diet and you'll lose the gut eventually, not to brag, but I managed to go from having a gut to six pack without ever doing direct ab work.

Wow, ok, i never knew that! Im going to give that a try! I have been given a good diet plan from the Fitness instructor at the gym actually, cannot really say how its going so far, its only been about 2 weeks now.

Does cardio work for burning fat as well?

@69Joka69

Do you follow a specific program? If not maybe go to bodybuilding.com and find one.

Going to try this way out:

I just want to know, i just recently started gyming, (not for Bodybuilding or anything, just to loose the gut, and get fit, and at a later stage start bulking up a bit), but my question is, i go to gym 4 times a week, (cannot get to gym on a Friday) Do i have to do Cardio everyday - Right now i do 20 minutes Cardio every single day, Cycling, Treadmill etc. But, because i only have 45 Minutes in the gym after i do cardio, i only have another 25 Minutes to do the rest of the work (depending on which parts that day)

Is that sufficient time to work on the muscles, and does 1 have to do Cardio every day?

I'll upload the training plan of you like. Generally takes about 45 min per day.

I try to train 5 days a week.
1. Chest & Abs
2. Back & Calves
3. Shoulders
4. Legs
5. Arms & Abs

It's a nice balanced program. Good breaks between muscle groups, and calves on non-legs day :-)

I do kind of have a plan, something similar to this 1 ^, but i honestly haven't been following it properly - reason being, im not very familiar with all the machines etc as according to the plan the instructor gave me. He's meant to be taking me through the plan, but the dude literally has not been at the gym for over a month already?

Like he references the Machines names, but im just not familiar with them, so im kind of gyming blind, doing what i think is the correct things?

Can't help you with machines since I just use my slam ball, kettlebells, dumbbells and pull up bar that I have. Waiting to see if I win The R1000 shopping voucher for mr price sport so I can get a barbell :D

I see :D Thanks a lot though.

This program is focused mainly on compound exercises, using free-weights, but you can use cable to achieve some of them as well.
The program comes from a popular fitness dude, but I won't post his name since this program comes from his book - I have just put it into an EXCEL schedule. Ask me if you need clarification on anything in it.

Sure cardio works for burning fat, but if your diet is spot on, meaning your in a calorie deficit and your hitting the right protein/carb/fat ratios, you'll be burning fat already, so cardio is not mandatory to burn fat, I personally find cardio makes me more hungry when trying to lose weight, so I keep it to a minimum, not that I say you should, if you enjoy it go for, I just don't like running around mindlessly, so I rather pay closer attention to what I eat and skip the jog:D

If you do cardio, then you may as well do HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training), burns more fat in less time than steady-state cardio. Apply it to running, cycling, rowing, etc.
