Any Banting dieters in this thread? How are you coping with the energy lows in the gym? I'm not talking about general tiredness - cardio is fine, I'm talking no spark between the muscle fibres when you push heavy... it's like my muscles are totaly devoid of glycogen (which may be normal for banting diet?). It's no fun at all. Try ekeing out 50 pullups with that kind of low energy. I'm even on NO pre-workout and it's just not cutting it. Is there no way to get those glycogen stores going without eating carbs?

I'm so keen to get to my target weight and get back on the basic whole carbs! Sweet potato, brown rice will do for now!

Wish I could help but As I've said before, I don't know anything other than exercise while banting.

I'm actually thinking about carbing up a bit during the last month of my bulking cycle. Made some gains but I expected more.

It's hard to bulk without carbs. Carbs are not from the devil, they just need to be put into proper context.

The only reason I've stuck to the banting for so long is because of the great weight loss I had with it. Also cured my chronic heartburn. But that could also be attributed to the extra weight and all the sugar I consumed back then.

I'll obviously have to plan better if I decide on going the Carb bulking route.

Yeah, some planning definitely helps. I'm going to try freezing and prepacking my meals in future - particularly the carbs since those are the bits I struggle to keep tabs on when I'm eating them.

Now now.... You are safe here.

That is of course if the other LCHF prophets don't find their way here.

I've lost my weight which was my initial goal. I'm in no way going to preach it to other people just because of my results. Everybody is different.

Now my goals have changed and I am obviously looking at all the ways to reach that goal successfully and relatively quick. Can never read up too much about anything.

Unfortunately I am not allowed to comment on this.

?

Find me one LCHF serious bodybuilder...
I'm using it for cutting and am eating plenty fat to substitute for the energy, but somehow it seems fat doesn't equate to good glycogen stores. I'm wondering if I should avoid the heavy lifting and stick to higher reps until I've reached my goal weight. I'm a little nervous of any catabolic effect of low carbs.

Garbs is your bodies preferred energy source. For bodybuilding it's not even debatable, fck mr Jokes.
