It seems my drop in energy and strength was directly related to my diet. I have decided to cut out sugar, as well as drastically reduce my carb intake. This was a big mistake. For the past week, I have been eating carbs again, like rice, sweet potato, potato, etc etc. Still pretty much off the sugar (as in my coffee, and I live on coffee).

Deadlift back up to 280kg for 2 reps.

I posted my routine a while ago, which is actually a Mike Matthew BLS program. 99% free weights, and focuses on compound exercises, working in the 80-85% of 1RM. Most exercises are 3x6 reps.

Thanks. I'll search for it a bit later.

Ditto - my glycogen stores appear to be back up after having carbs on workout days. Much better.

Thought there might be some interesting titbits for a few people. The part about the way he monitors his heart in the mornings was quite interesting. Skip to 8:56 for the actual interview.

As already mentioned in the Weight Loss / Gain thread.

I'm ditching LCHF for the last 6 weeks of bulking. Not getting the desired results and simply too expensive to eat in calorie surplus in LCHF.

Any of you guys use a mass builder shake to reach daily calories?

If yes, do you still buy Pure Whey as well?

I couldn't be bothered to spend stupid amounts on Pure Whey. Instead I bought the EVO 5x Muscle Meal, or whatever it's called, for R150 per 1kg and 500g of Pure Soy protein for 50 bucks and ended up mixing the two. Two scoops whey, one scoop soy + 250ml soy milk should be around 60g protein. Haven't counted the actual calories yet

Is there any point to doing LCHF if one is trying to gain? Surely not? I can't remember, was your original reason for going LCHF because you wanted to lose weight?

Has anyone tried Solal Whey Protein, is it any good?

Can anyone recommend leg exercises to develop muscle?

But without weights of gym equipment.

Explosive exercises like jumping step-ups, jumping squats and jumping lunges work well. Why without weights? Ideally you would put add about 15kg into an old backpack, strap it on tightly and do these.
