A little note and recommendation, if you have R700 lying around and are in the market for a decent whey, I bought that ON Gold Standard 100% Whey and it is well worth the extra Rand or so. (I was punting it earlier in this thread but I can see now why it has won Bodybuilding.com's best overall supplement for 5 years in row - it may be paid for but there has to be at least some validity to the award)

I got the 2.3 kg strawberry (Dischem) and I can say that it is by far the best whey I have used. If you have had a heavy work out and need that extra little something from a whey (post workout), get it. Those Americans do know how to make a decent product.

Give it a try and you will notice the difference (and not just in your bank account :D)
If you're going to buy ON they have much better flavours than Strawberry, try the rocky road or french vanille creme :D

But ON 100% whey still has alot of whey concentrate

SPS's ISO whey @ R490 is probably the best deal on whey you can get atm, and its all isolates (if you believe the label)

I was keen on getting rocky road but was just weary as I tried cookies and creme of another brand and that was horrible

How is everyone progressing though on the exercise and body reformation front?

PS: I love my biceps, I really do, and I actually look forward to the days when it's their time to burn. Did a session on Mon and Tues and they are hurting with the good pain... :D

man i am loving it at the moment. Started weight training on monday after a week of cardio.
I cant wait to get to gym in the morning. I have got sps NO Blast. man oh man that stuff give you energy and stanima. I can do a full 50 min weight workout and still do 20 minutes cardio.

Mine is going awesome, put on some muscle and lost loads of my belly fat, still a bit to go.

I can do 50 straight minutes on the orbittrek now :D. I am only doing light weights for the moment as i want to lose weight but so far body transformation is going awesome :D.

the rocky road /banana creme are awesome :D
their cookies and creme isnt bad but its not great, tried all their flavours over a year or 2 when they were still reasonably priced at R450 for 2kg's, now its just not worth it

Ola Gym Peoples!

I started in the gym around 3 months ago (I exploded after I quit the ciggys).

My current routine is:

Mon: Back (Upper and Lower) & Biceps
Wed: Chest & Triceps (Incl. Ab workout)
Friday: Legs & Shoulders

Tues, Thurs, Sunday (Optional): I cycle the stationary bike x 40mins (I try do intervals but I aint so fit yet!)

I usually gym from around 4.45am - 5.20am but I have a new gym partner who only does cardio and then only from 18.00 - 18.30. So I am doing a current split routine (having a partner is awesome motivation)

Nutrition:

Trickey as I have a limit budget and when I am on rotation at work (28on/28off) I do not have control over my meals as I eat out of a canteen.

Never the less I try for 5 - 6 smaller meals a day.
I hit the salad bar first as opposed to the cooked foods section.
I do try and count my calorie intake and eat according to a deficit (I am not very strict but am slowly tightening on how much I consume).
I consume around 3.5L of water.
I try to avoid refined foods as far as I can (I use honey and stevia as alternatives to sugar).

Supplements:
First, to repeat myself, I am on a very tight budget.

So far I have tried whey products from USN and Evox. They are okay for now but will see how they measure up as I intensify my workouts.

I am trying out Biogens phenedrine xtra. Too early to really judge its efficiency.

Results so far:
November: I started at 115kgs and beginning December I was 109kgs.
December: I went on Holiday, cycled a tiny bit, ate, drank and was merry (too merry at times!). I picked up 1kg.
January: Started last week at 110kgs and am down to just under 109kgs after a week.

My overall target for January is 105kg's or less.
My ultimate goal is to drop to around 80kgs whilst gaining / maintaining muscle mass. I might try add some bulk after that.

Rewards: I promised myself a polar watch when I drop and stay under 100kgs (at this rate, I better start saving!).

Any comments / criticism / suggestions are welcome.

Thanks and keep lifting!

Sounds great Jase. Well done.
I am also in your same situation. Sitting at about 108 and wanna see the two diget numbers on the scale. I dont belive they exist so i need to prove it to my self.

I have a polar HR monitor and i find it is soo worth it for cardio. Even on weight training i can see how my fitness is improving on how quick i get back to my base heart rate.

Where do you gym?

Thanks gumpie :)

We have a small gym here at work. On my off months I haven't got a place to gym yet. I am waiting to see if the new medical aid offers any form of gym membership / subsidy.

Slightly off topic question that just intrigued me a second ago...

Someone said rhetorically to me don't I feel better after I started gym? Like I am supposed to have more energy and what not. It occurred to me that a lot of people say this.

I have been going to gym for over a year now and I have been through various stages of stress, diet, sleep and training intensity but I can honestly say I have never felt any different energy wise whatsoever since I started.

I have gone from poor to good diets and back and never noticed any effect other than physically. At the moment I am not pedantic about my diet but I think I eat healthy enough and around 5 times a day average. Slightly overweight but either mine eyes deceive me or those abs are finally starting to show :D which is a fast result when I look at my new years bribe photo's on facebook :p (what a party!! :D:D)

Anyway is gym really supposed to be making me feel extra energetic or something? I'm just curious. I'm not the most trigger happy of people, actually quite laid back, and before I started gym to after I can't say I feel different at all.

Well it depends on your diet, you may be going to the gym with little to no energy.

I feel freakin awesome since i started gyming, i only ever feel tired around 7 8 at night due to getting up 4:45 but the whole day i got energy, i suspect though that it could be the pills i take hahaha :D.

Get some fat burners man. We only feel so energetic because we hopped up on something driving us on :D.

Anyone know of something that can compare to Apidexin and not cost a fortune or interfere with sports (must be legal, Clenbutrol is not optional..)
I found hydrixy hardcore absolutely useless with severe side effects, have not tried animal cuts yet but it seems like a marketing product more than anything else...

*edit* alternatively, am looking for anyone to go in with me to order straight from apidexin themselves...it gets stacks cheaper on bulk orders

Well i am using animals cuts and loving them.

As soon as i am done with animal cuts i will be smacking that eca stack i have left.

I am doing 2 hours cardio a day
1 hour stomach
light weights for 1 hour

I cannot believe how much fat i have lost. Not lost much weight due to muscle but yea animal cuts give me tons of energy while gyming.

Also i have just started a new diet to get rid of the last of my belly.

Oats plain plus grape fruit in the morning
more oats at like 10ish
then i snack on nuts and fruit and have more oats at like 3ish and then more oats for dinner with nuts in between.

Anything wrong with that do you think? Read a lot on google and it seems like a good diet that is good nutrition wise and will me give me everything i need.

I cannot believe how farkin stubborn belly fat can be :(. Been breaking my ass for 2months and i am still not done yet. Wish i had never let it get out of hand dammit.

I'll give that the thumbs up.

I've read good things about Animal Cuts but the downside was the cost! :wtf:

I say stick with what is working for you, if you plateau or injure yourself, then re-evaluate.

Hi, I must say that this is a very informative thread. I have recently decided to start using my gym membership again and so far I am loving to go to gym.

Were could I find a decent gym program that I can use to sustain the musle that I have and burn off fat?

Any replies would help alot :)

Hi Guys,

Anyone ever use Ovidrel 250ug after a cycle in place of pregnyl.

My supplier didnt have pregnyl so he gve me this ovidrel, but it only has two vials, the ovidrel and the solvent.

Do I inject only once, or do I have to split it up, anyone know??????

So i still havent been able to find dextrose at a normal store, so will probably go with muscleworks.

Anybody use their products before?

Is their service good too? i.e. no issues with shipping and lack of stock etc?

Just an update on this, their website and ordering from them online is a complete waste of time, you wont get your stuff and they dont bother to reply to emails either

I have recently started incorporating giant sets into my routine with the odd superset. I have cut training time down and increased intensity hugely. So far results seem great, I may alternate between this routine and regular sets over a couple of months. One example:

Barbell curls
Tricep pushdown
Hammer curls
Close grip bench
Reverse (or sometimes preacher) curls
Reverse dips

No rest in between. Max 2 min rest after the lot, start again, do it three times.

For Chest / Back its:

Dips
Pull-ups (or lat pulldown)
Flyes
Seated Rows
Incline Dumbell press
Close grip pull down

No rest in between - rest 1-2 mins afterwards, repeat twice more.

Alternatively do three sets, one after the other, of one muscle group (Dips, Flyes, Incline Dumbell Press) without resting in between, then a 1-2min rest and then the next muscle group.

I have found stamina improving and intensity is superb with these workouts... anyone else giant / super / negative or drop setting as a regular part of their routine? It's one of those things you think you can't do until you actually try it.
Note, I'm not a serious bodybuilder - too 'over the hill' for that lol. I do enjoy my weekly endorphins and testosterone boost though. I generally take lean pure protein suppliments - anything with 75g or more per 100. At my age it's not easy to control the carbs like it used to be :p

Ham Glute Raisers

I have recently redesigned my hamstring workout - like alot of guys in the gym these days, I find it way too easy to concentrate on the exersices I like, so this years resolution is to concentrate on the more complete exersices and ensure that I do enough core stuff. Front squats instead of leg press, etc. etc.

One exersice I am keen to start is the Ham Glute Raise. Does anyone else do these? What do you think? It just looks like one of those awesome exersices and I haven't really seen it in action (I work out at home so don't see much in action).
